I'd set myself a low target - 26 books - and am at 37 as of last night, with probably 3 or 4 more by year end. I need to set myself a higher target next year.
I intend to shamelessly poach from others' lists. Agree with you about Ragdoll, David. Brilliant! And Harry Hole is a no brainer, such a good series. I'm impatiently waiting on The Thirst: A Harry Hole Novel.
I am like Mary C.... I set an incredibly low challenge because I joined the challenge half way through the year and also as I had no idea how much I readI read a lot, I have discovered!!!! And so I looked at my reading in terms of money and decided that in retirement it was time to re-join my local library and, as it is a small rural one, I also paid the low membership fee for the nearby city library
What that did was lower my reading costs but also increased my reading as I was now reading for free and able to access books online!
And I wonder why no housework gets done!

Housework IS a problem! :-).
I crushed mine, I'm on book 37 and my goal was 31 :-) I listen to audiobooks cuz I have a long commute to all of my 3 jobs, so it was easy this year. I loved 90% of the books I read, too.
Sorry, just got to my computer, I can't post links to the books on my phone!Top 5 Faves for this year:
1. Me Before You
2. Red Queen
3. Winter
4. Miss Peregrine’s Home for Peculiar Children
5. Shiver
Currently I'm reading Ten Lords A-Leaping which is an English Murder mystery and I really like it, but I'm having trouble because there are SO MANY characters with intertwined relationships!

I'd really like to hear from others re: their most enjoyable reads of the year which they recommend to others.
