I can't find this book...

Hello everyone,

I have been looking for this book for a fair amount of time now... Maybe someone might know what its title and author are!

It's a novel and the story is set in New York (Soho). In a nutshell, it's about an artist and a journalist (or maybe a writer?), if I am not mistaken, who become very good friends. It also talks about love, and the women of their lives. It seemed to be a rather recent novel... And I am not sure at all, but I think there was the word "Love" in the title.

Now, if I remember well, the book starts with a description of a painting of the artist from the journalist's perspective, with a woman depicted on the canvas and then you hear about his wife, how they met, their love story until today etc... Then comes the time when he meets the artist in his gallery, where they have a very long conversation about various stuff all revolving around art... This is the only bit I have read when I went through the book in the library where I found it.

If anyone could help me with this, I'd be eternally grateful.

I just read this. There are three novellas here all adding up to "New York Trilogy" by Paul Auster. You should be able to find it in any library. Auster is a famous author, about everything he has published is in my library. Oh, and the book you are talking about sounds like the one set in the Prado in Madrid, Spain. In that book, one of the characters seems to live there, and I think the other is a journalist.

I think you are thinking of "Master of the Prado" by Javier Sierra, in which the author encounters a man who appears to live in the Prado museum in Madrid, Spain. Now, New York Trilogy is by Paul Auster, and he too appears in the book, and you should be able to find this, and the book by Sierra, at any library.

Hey thank you for replying although i finally found the book I mentioned above not long after commenting and the funny thing is it was Auster’s wife who wrote it. It’s “what I loved” by Siri Hustvedt.
Thank you for giving me a reply a year after I posted this lol
