Emily Dobson (dobsonemilyagmailcom) | 3 comments Hello,
I was in a Barnes and noble in VA about a month ago and can't remember the name of this book. I believe the author was a man but can't be 100% sure. I have gone to 2 other B&Ns but can't find it. I don't think it was very old book. It was about a young girl (teens) running away from either a commune or a cult of some kind. I believe it was set in Texas but again not 100% sure. She was either resting at a cabin or trying to get to a cabin...I know there was something a cabin. I would love any and all help/suggestions. Thanks

Emily

Was it YA or adult? Hardcover or paperback? Remember the cover?

I wonder if you went to the original store and showed the staff where you saw the book, if they might remember it. Given that it was quite recent.

Emily Dobson (dobsonemilyagmailcom) | 3 comments I would just go back to the store, but its in VA and I live in NJ. It was adult paperback and the cover was dark maybe black with blue? It's not the girls, I don't remember seeing anything about a kidnapping, I think the girl grew up in the commune
But thanks for the suggestion

Stephen (swynn68) | 87 comments Probably a long shot: Hillary Jordan's When She Woke is set in a future dystopian Texas where Fundamentalist Christians have taken over the government. The heroine is convicted of murder after she has an illegal abortion, and eventually flees Texas. I don't remember details well eough to say whether there was a cabin at some point, but there could easily have been.

Emily Dobson (dobsonemilyagmailcom) | 3 comments No but thanks. I don't remember seeing anything about religious on the cover. But the cabin was on the covers description of the story.
