Jasmine | ModernScrolls (modernscrolls) | 297 comments Alec grinned down at her and ruffled her hair as she nodded at him. He frowned when she spoke and looked down and instantly felt bad. "It is romantic," he allowed, the guilt audible in his voice, "I'm sorry. Please don't be upset.

He watched her curiously, his expression changing to shock as he felt her taking his mind. He tried to protest but there was nothing he could do; he couldn't fight her powers. Alec gritted his teeth and squeezed his eyes shut. "Aaliyah," he choked out, doing his best not to succumb to her, "please."

His final plea was the last thing he choked out before being washed over by her powers. He looked confused at her request but nodded, "Forget about you," he repeated. Deep in the back of his mind he was screaming to wake back up and fight against her. For a moment he broke, and Alec raised a hand and brushed a tear from her face. "I don't want to," he said softly, his eyes full of anguish. It lasted only a moment and then he was back under.

By the time she had run away he was back to normal. There was a nagging feeling that he was forgetting something, but he just couldn't place it.

onceuponatimeareview | 8405 comments She didn't say anything else. She was walking away. She was running from what she knew best to do. Run and don't look back when in reality she lost something she didn't want to lose. Her eyes darted around. She was alone again. She couldn't take the pain of losing something or hurting the one thing she cared about. Tears down her eyes. She felt like a horrible person for hurting them. stains were down on her face.

She walked down to a nice spot. She sat down crying. She liked him but she didnt want to hurt him at all. Soon she was finding herself walking back to see if he was still there. She saw him. She wanted him. She took a shaky breath. She saw him

Maybe she could reverse it. She didnt want to hurt him. She kept thinking that she would hurt him and make him hater her. 'Alec." She said and took his mind. "Please remember,"she whispered She backed away crying.

Jasmine | ModernScrolls (modernscrolls) | 297 comments Alec shook his head and ran a hand through his messy brown hair, confusion visible in his stormy grey eyes. He looked around him, wondering what he had been doing in the alley anyway. It was an odd thing really, and Alec felt almost as though he had been sleep walking, for he couldn't remember anything before this moment. This was unlike anything he had ever experienced, and he wasn't quite sure what to do.

After another shake of his head Alec turned and began to walk, but he stopped at the sight of Aaliyah. The corners of his lips turned down into a frown at the sight of her, and his eyebrows pulled together as though he were thinking very hard - she looked vaguely familiar, but Alec just couldn't place where he had seen her before.

He opened his mouth to speak but stopped as Aaliyah took hold of his mind. For a moment his thoughts were too much, and it seemed like all he could see were a blur of colors. There were snippets of old forgotten memories; memories in which that girl who stood before him was smiling and happy, and others where she was crying. When it was all over he looked up at her, a shocked look on his face.

"Aaliyah," he said softly, almost moaning the name as he ran towards her. He wrapped his arms around her and pulled her close, burying his face in her hair, "Don't ever do that again."

onceuponatimeareview | 8405 comments She let the tears come down her face. She saw him run towards her. She relaxed. She was scared. "I'm sorry I..." She didn't know what to think. Everything was coming down on her. everything she kept hidden for all these years were coming in. The emotions she hid the things she did not to get to attached to everything failed. She was falling for him and she didn't want to be selfish like that but at the same time she didn't really care. She looked up at him. She couldn't speak. She felt ashamed to do that. She was hysteric right now. She was having a breakdown. Something that should of happen along time ago.

She was trembling. "I'm sorry." She said. "I don't know how to do anything." She was hurt. "I didn't want to get attached and I thought I push you away then it would work." She looked down trying to take in him. "Please don't leave." She paused. "I can't do anything right everything is coming down. I failed my brother and parents." She was over come by the gas and she needed to rest.

Her eyes started drooping. "I'm sorry i don't know anything." She was confused and tired. Her body needed to rest. Her mind needed to. She needed to let go and relaxed. She was so caught up in taking care of her brother she never did anything for herself. "Please forgive me."

Jasmine | ModernScrolls (modernscrolls) | 297 comments Alec held her close not saying anything for a while. He couldn't imagine the thoughts that were going through her mind right now with everything that she had kept inside for so long. She always felt the need to protect others, and while it was an admirable trait, he knew that he didn't need to be protected by her. He felt that he should be the one who was protecting her.

"Stop shaking Aaliyah," Alec said quietly, "It's okay, I promise it's okay." He pulled her close again, pressing her tight against him. It was an odd feeling he thought, caring for someone as much as he seemed to care for Aaliyah. He had thought that after the change he would never be able to feel like this again. He didn't think that perfects were capable of truly caring for someone. Then again, he wasn't a true perfect.

"You know enough," Alec murmured, looking down at her. He picked her up into his arms and carried her, and he began walking home. She was much too tired and she needed to rest, but he had a feeling she wouldn't rest even if he asked her too. Alec sighed, feeling bad about what he was going to do, and closed his eyes. He could feel the source of Aaliyah's powers and he tapped into it.

"You're tired Aaliyah," he said in a soothing voice. Although his voice was soothing there was a bit of a commanding air to it. "You need to sleep."

onceuponatimeareview | 8405 comments She saw everything coming down on her. She failed everyone in her life and she was crying over something that she couldn't change. She was hurt inside. She didn't want to feel anything. She wanted everything to be back to normal."I have to protect you." She said. She didn't know what else to say or do.

She couldn't stop shaking. She was scared out of her mind. She didn't want anything else to far apart. "It's ruined my life is ruined.' She whispered. "I'm falling for someone that I was taught to fear my whole life. I gave up fighting. I should still be fighting but I can't because I'm a perfect." She said.

She didn't want anything else to go wrong like this. She was scared out of her mind. "Let me down." She said. "I can walk myself." She didn't say anything else. She snuggled into him. "Please let me down. I much capable of walking myself." She did like the feeling of being close to him and she liked it. She didn't stop fighting. "Please let me down."

Her eyes widen at what he was doing. She came tired. She wanted to fight it but she was to weak to fight. Her eyes closed and she was asleep as a smile came on her face.

Jasmine | ModernScrolls (modernscrolls) | 297 comments "Your life isn't ruined," he murmured, trying not to look as hurt as he felt. "You should know by now that I'm not like the others. I'm not as much a human as you, but I'm not as much a perfect as them either."

Alec shook his head and held her, watching as a smile came onto her face when she fell asleep. He bit his lip as he walked, trying to push down the pain that he was suddenly feeling. It made no sense to be upset by the way that Aaliyah felt - it was natural and it was to be expected. After all. she was far more human than she was perfect.

He opened the door to his apartment for what seemed like the millionth time. He quietly closed the door so as not to wake her and lied her down on the couch. He sunk into a nearby chair and put his head in his hands, squeezing his eyes shut and trying not to think.

onceuponatimeareview | 8405 comments 'Your right it isn't ruined I have you." She whispered some. She felt like he was upset a little bit. She didn't want him to hurt like she did. She felt bad because she wasn't a perfect. She was more human than most perfects and that wasn't good. She knew if the goverment found out they wouldn't kill her because she had more power than perfects.

She was happy now. She snuggled into him. She was dead alseep. She was having sweet dreams. "Don't leave me please." She begged in her sleep. She was having a dream about them. She loved being close to him.

She felt herself being set down. "Please hold me." She whispered in her sleep. She felt the warmth leave her and she like it. She didn't want nothing to go wrong. SHe felt like it was perfect right now.

Jasmine | ModernScrolls (modernscrolls) | 297 comments ((Really sorry about taking so long to respond! I promise I haven't forgot about this haha also sorry for such a short post))

Alec didn't pay too much attention to her mumbles; he was thinking of far too many things as it was. There was the question of what to do with her and how to get her to fully trust him. There was also the question of where they were going to go. It would be hard enough to leave the city without raising any suspicions from the government; the bigger problem was that they had nowhere to go. Even if there were human civilizations like she had said, neither of them knew where to look.

He looked over at her when she whispered for him to hold her, a bewildered expression on his face. He wasn't sure if she'd be happy to wake up in his arms or if she'd explode and start crying again. Not wanting to take the risk, Alec decided to stay in his seat. He would watch her until she woke up, and from there they could figure out what to do.

onceuponatimeareview | 8405 comments ((Thats fine I haven't been on all weekend was at my best friends house))

She waited for him to come and hold her and tell her things will become better but nothing happened. She knew he was to good to be true. She liked him a lot and wanted to be in the warmth of her arms. She held the tears in but it didn't last long as she started to have nightmares when her parents were killed. She hadfd tears coming down her face as the nightmare kept replaying.

She couldn't describe the nightmare because she saw bits and pecies. It was like she couldn't remember the whole thing. Pictures faded in out of her head. she wanted to be in one place right now but she wasn't in that place. The last words of her parents never trust a perfect. She knew she could trust him but she was afraid of getting hurt. Does that mean she couldn't trust herself?

She had an idea. She snuck into his head while she was sleeping taking his mind making him to come hold her. She only made sure it would work if he liked her enough to come and hold her. If he didn't like her she would turn herself in.

Jasmine | ModernScrolls (modernscrolls) | 297 comments Alec sighed and ran a hand through his brown hair, making it appear even messier than usual. He closed his eyes for a brief moment and massaged his temples in an attempt to stop the headache that he felt coming on. All of this was just too much; it was almost too much to handle at once, and he didn't know what he was going to do about it. He looked back at her and frowned, noticing the tears that were making their way down her face. He was frozen for a moment, unsure of what to do, and then he moved.

Instantly Alec was sitting beside her and putting her arms gently around her, moving her up into a sitting position. "Aaliyah," he murmured, shaking her gently. "Aaliyah, please wake up. Don't cry." He pulled her close to him and leaned back against the couch, hoping she would wake up and stop crying. He couldn't handle tears.

This is a real fine mess you've gotten yourself into, he thought to himself as he looked down at her. There was something about her that Alec couldn't quite place. There was something different and wonderful that he just couldn't walk away from.

onceuponatimeareview | 8405 comments The tears kept coming. She opened her eyes up. She looked up at him and where she was at. SHe didn't like having the nightmares. She snuggled into him. "Nightmare." She whispered softly. She was with him and she tried to calm down. She was scared e erything she ever known wasn't the same. She never needed anyone but herself and now she let him. Was this mess a mistake.

She stared there letting the tears coming down her face. "Alec I'm scared." She couldn't fall back to sleep the nightmares that haunted her started again. She didn't want to close her eyes and see the imanges go through her mind.

She wanted to trust him her gut trusted him she was confused, "Alec I want trust you but I was taught never to trust a perfect and that means I can't trust myself either." She whispered. "I never needed anyone, but I want you to stay with me I like you a lot." SHe said.

Jasmine | ModernScrolls (modernscrolls) | 297 comments Alec held her close, saying nothing for a few moments; he didn't know what to say. It was by pure luck and chance that he had managed to gain any of her trust at all, and he knew it. Any slight mistake on his part - whether intentional or not - could mess up everything between them, and the thought of that scared him far more than he wanted to admit.

"I know it's hard for you to trust me right now. I know that everything within you is probably telling you not to, and that's okay. It makes complete sense. But know this, you're still the same girl that you were before you were changed. Nothing has changed aside from the fact that now you're able to manifest powers you didn't even know you were capable of. Other than that, you're still the same girl you used to be."

Alec paused, unsure if what he was saying would help her at all or not. "I'm sorry for doing this to you, I really am. But know that right now I really am trying to help you. I am."

onceuponatimeareview | 8405 comments She looked at him and didn't say anything to him. She didn't know if he hated her or not. She nodded her head a little. She felt safe in his arms. She trusted him some. "I trust enough to know you won't hurt me at all because you like me." She whispered softly. "I don't trust anyone at all. And I think its good that I have someone that I depend on." She whispered. She just wanted to stay rught there

"I don't feel the same." She looked at up at him and blushed a little bit. "Alec do you like me like me or are you going to hurt me in the end?" She whispered. She looked back forward. "You mean chaning me into a perfect."

Jasmine | ModernScrolls (modernscrolls) | 297 comments "Of course you don't feel the same," Alec said softly, looking down at her with an almost curious expression. "There are slight aspects of you that have been changed, and that's going to take some time to adjust to. Especially when you still have the same mindset that you did before the change. It makes things even harder - believe me, I know."

He couldn't help but blush at her second question and he looked away for a moment, caught off guard by her words. "Uh, I do like you Aaliyah," Alec said a bit nervously, running a hand through his hair before looking back down at her. "Yes, I mean changing you into a perfect. None of this would have happened if I hadn't changed you."

onceuponatimeareview | 8405 comments She looked at him and nodded. "If this never happened then I wouldn't be with you right now." She whispered softly. She snuggled into him. She nodded her head slighlty. "How come you feel like a human not a perfect? How come you hide you powers from the goverment> 'She asked. "How come you haven't found a safe haven somewhere." she whispered softly. She pushed herself up looking into his eyes moving closer to his lips.

"I wouldn't have meant you I would be dead without someone." She whispered;

Jasmine | ModernScrolls (modernscrolls) | 297 comments Alec was quiet for a moment, looking down at her and saying nothing. If this never happened then I wouldn't be with you right now, she said. But what was so good about him? He was just another perfect who was trying to live within the system. Another jerk who had stepped over countless amounts of people just to make sure that he could make it through. Whatever she saw in him, he was sure it wasn't there. He couldn't bring himself to believe that he was a good guy.

"I don't know why I feel like a human and not a perfect," he said simply, now avoiding looking her in the eye. He wasn't lying, but he didn't feel comfortable saying these things aloud to anyone. Who knew when the government was listening? "I hide my powers from the government because if I have to. If they found out then any number of things would happen to me. They could keep me and run tests on me. No doubt they'd find out that I don't actually think like a perfect. It could lead to them finding a way to figure out which people will be good perfects and which won't once they're changed - that leads to more deaths for the ones like us. They could decide to keep me and have me use my powers for the government. Well, that wouldn't last long because there's no way I'd do that. In the end, I'm out. I'm locked away somewhere or killed. They wouldn't just let me go."

Alec suddenly looked back down at her, his piercing grey eyes staring straight into hers. "And you need to understand that if they find out about your powers, they won't let you go."

onceuponatimeareview | 8405 comments She looked up at him. When he didn't close the gap toi kiss her she felt like she was being slapped in the face. She understood guys like that. All they want was a pretty little girl to call their wife. She listend carefully not paying attention. She knew what the goverment would do. At the moment it seemed he didn't like her or that he didn't want to like her that he only cared about himself. She bit her lip. "Well I think that maybe its not the best idea if I stay with you. Um I know that I should get my own place and maybe live on my own." She whispered.

She was thinking through ways to get over him. She didn't know why she thought he was different. She pushed him away slowl. He really hurt her. "I should be going." She said. She got up and ran out the door she knew what she was going to do. She was going to turn herself in to the government. She walked slowly in a alleu way so Alec wouldn't see her.

She had to save her brother. She would turn herself in to do it. She was going to let her brother be a perfect she would help the government to save her brother. She would even turn Alec in. She had to save her brother. She wasn't thinking straight she had to listen to the government. She had to save her brother. She was slumped to the ground She just want Alec to kiss her and all he did was talk about that she had to keep jer powers a secret.

Jasmine | ModernScrolls (modernscrolls) | 297 comments A look of confusion slowly found its way onto his face as Aaliyah spoke, and he couldn't understand where this sudden change in attitude was coming from. "Live on your own?" he asked, his eyes furrowing as she pushed him away and stood up. He couldn't even say anything else before she was out the door.

Alec immediately stood up and walked out the door, but he quickly realized that he had no idea where she could have gone. "Aaliyah," he called out, shoving his hands into his pockets and walking down the street. "Aaliyah, please come back." The tone in his voice was almost pleading and there was a desperate look in his eyes. He couldn't understand what would have driven her to run out of his apartment.

He bit his lower lip as he walked, calling out her name a few more times in the hopes that he would get a response. If she really did like him, then why would she keep running from him like this? Maybe she had realized that he wasn't as great as she had originally thought. Alec sighed and ran a hand through his messy brown hair, unable to make sense of the situation. He had just told her everything that he had never trusted himself to tell anyone else, and she had run off. He got a sinking feeling in his stomach and it took all his willpower not to sink to the ground right there - what if she was going to spill his secrets to the government? How stupid he had been to trust her as he did.

onceuponatimeareview | 8405 comments She heard him calling her name. "Go away." She shouted. She was a fool to trust him. She didn't want to deal with this. She wanted to like him so much but he was going to hurt her? She niffled some. She was cold now. It started to rain and thundered. She felt herself drift off by using her powers.

When she used her powers she became more perfcet then she was when she didn't. She became addict it to it. she bit her lip as she felt the power take over her. She was going to expose herself and someone needed to stop her. She wasn't thinking straight at the moment. She walked out of the ally way and saw Alec the wind started to blow hard. HEr hair flew in the wind. "Go away I wanted you to kiss me and you didn't you didn't and that hurt." She started mumble and go on and on.

"I just wanted one kiss cause I like you and you didn't." She looked up at him with big eyes tears running down her face. She looked vurlnabv\le right now.

Jasmine | ModernScrolls (modernscrolls) | 297 comments He heard her response and rather than listen to what she had said he started walking in her direction. If she didn't want to see him that was fine, but he at least needed to understand what had caused her to run off like she had. He just couldn't understand it.

Alec groaned as the winds picked up, and looking ahead he saw as Aaliyah walked out of the alley. It was clear that she was losing herself to her powers, and despite the anger she was clearly projecting at him, he was worried for her safety. "Aaliyah, you need to stop," he said softly. "You're going to get yourself in trouble."

His grey eyes widened at her words and he stared at her, the look on his face unreadable. It was unclear whether he was in shock or simply did not understand what she was saying - in reality, it was a little bit of both. He hadn't even realized that she had wanted him to kiss her. "A-aliyah, I'm sorry," Alec said, struggling to gain his composure. "I-I didn't realize. It's not that I don't want to...Aaliyah, I told you that I like you, didn't I?"

onceuponatimeareview | 8405 comments She looked to him and didn't say a word. She was shaking some as the power took over her even more. She bit her lip some. "I can't I don't how the power keeps coming and I like it a lot and I want more." She said coldly. She smiled a cold smile and it showed she wasn't herself. She perked her head up as she smelt and heard humans. "Its a little too late for that." She said.

She ran to where the human was. She looked at the little girl. She smiled some. "Your going to come with me" She said in a commanding voice. The little girl came as commanded. The storm grew worse as she let the power take over. She needed to be stopped.

Her mind wasn't in the right place. "God girl." She smiled wickedly. .

Jasmine | ModernScrolls (modernscrolls) | 297 comments Alec watched in despair, recognizing all too well the look of someone whose powers were taking over. She didn't know how to control them, and if she didn't learn then they would eat her from the inside out. She could be one of the governments most powerful agents. "Don't do it," he warned through gritted teeth, but he knew that she wouldn't listen. He wasn't even sure if she had heard him.

He quickly followed her, staying right on her trail as she ran towards the human. Alec knew that there was no way this could end well unless he managed to bring her back down to herself. He watched the little girl obediently follow, and was shocked as the storm grew worse. He feared that he may already be too late.

Alec grabbed Aaliyah's wrist and turned her to face him. "You need to stop," he commanded, his tone no longer pleading. It was now dark and serious, and his grey eyes pierced hers. He gave her no time to respond, pulling her in and kissing her instead. He could only hope that this would be enough to break her for just a moment. Just a moment was all he needed to get her thinking straight again.

onceuponatimeareview | 8405 comments Her eyes widen some when his lips touched hers. She kissed him back softly. Her knees were shaking. She didn't have no control of her powers and it scared her. She didn't want to be part of the government at this very moment. Her breathing was heavy. The storm started to fade. "I can't control them."She whispered to him. She was scared if she pulled away then she would lose herself again.

She felt the little girls mind in hers. She liked having the power. "Human."She hissed through her teeth. Her knees stopped trembling. Her smiled was cold the same expression was on her face but this time she didn't walk away. It was like she was fighting herself to stay near Alec and she was doing her best to do.

"I want you to..."Her voice fell she wanted the human to get away from her. "get away from me."She said and the girl ran off. She was shaking as it took a lot of control to even get herself to do something like that. "Help."She whispered.

Jasmine | ModernScrolls (modernscrolls) | 297 comments Alec never moved, knowing that if she wasn't close to him then there was no way he would ever get her back. It was clear that her powers were already getting to be too much, and he didn't know how he was going to help her learn to control them. "I know," he murmured back.

He watched as she struggled, wishing that there was some way that he could help her. He had helped others before, but none of them had been taken over by their powers as much as she was. It was odd to him. Aaliyah was a strong person, and he found it strange that she wasn't able to have much hold over the powers that she possessed.

He was surprised when she told the human girl to run away, and immediately knew that he had to get her out of there. Almost immediately after she said the words, Alec had picked her up and began running in the other direction. "That was really good Aaliyah," he said softly, smiling at her in the hopes that she would feel slightly better. "I'm very proud of you."

onceuponatimeareview | 8405 comments She nodded her head shaking in his arms. She smiled a little bit. She saw the girl run fast. "I was going turn myself in to save him." She said snuggling into him some. "I could save him and he would be alright then I won't have to think or care for myself everything would be done for me like a real perfect." She whispered. She was trying to clam herself down but her powers kept setting in making her want to use them. She didn't have the control she needed to use them the right way.

Her powers started to come back and the tempertatures slowly dropped. It started to snow some. She didn't feel the minds of humans but all the perfects around her. She wasn't sure what to do. She took a deep breath but the minds grew in her head. All she could think about was how to control someone. She looked up and smiled coldly. The wind picked up and howled.

"Let me down." She commaned to Alec. She took his mind easily. She didn't have his mind all the way though. She didn't like being in control yet.

Jasmine | ModernScrolls (modernscrolls) | 297 comments "Don't worry Aaliyah," Alec said softly, "we're going to get your brother. I honestly don't know how, and I don't know when. But we'll do it. If that's the last thing that I do, then so be it. But I will do it." He fell silent, a grim expression on his face. His grey eyes were no longer alight but were cloudy instead; perfect indications of his grim mood.

When Aaliyah told him to let her down he could feel that she had control, but was also aware that she didn't have full control of him. He put her down, his lips curving down into a smile as he did so. Alec wanted to tell her something, but found it hard to do so with her controlling even part of his mind. He resolved to wait until she was done, holding back a sigh that he probably wouldn't have been able to release anyway.

onceuponatimeareview | 8405 comments She was shaking some her knees wouldn't stop trembling. she looked up at him. She relaxed some then a cold smile played on her face. She let herself take his mind. She wanted power and more of it. She let his mind go she wanted different and harder minds take over. She looked at him coldly and started to walk off. As she walked off snow flew down faster it was like a blizzard happening here. She heard sirens and quickly snapped out of it.

Her heart race she ran back to Alec. "They found me I didn't mean to the power was taking over me and I couldn't help." She said. She hold on to him. "Alec what are we going to do." She whispered scared. They didn't really find her. It was all in her head. Her power was over powering her. She was using too much all at once.

Jasmine | ModernScrolls (modernscrolls) | 297 comments ((Hey, I want to apologize for taking so long to respond! I'm currently jumping through rp's and trying to catch up with all my school work. I should be able to post tonight though! Just didn't want you to think I forgot about this rp.))

onceuponatimeareview | 8405 comments ((Hey thats fine I understand take your time.))

Jasmine | ModernScrolls (modernscrolls) | 297 comments A sense of relief began to wash over him as she began to relax, but it was quickly filled with anxiety and fear and a cold smile spread across her lips. He could tell that he had lost her again, and this time he feared that she was too far gone for him to help her. Alec could feel as she took his mind, and though he tried to resist, he couldn't. He was left helpless as she walked off, taking the blizzard that she had created with her.

At the sound of sirens Alec could feel his power return and he knew that something must have snapped Aaliyah out of the power hungry rampant she had started. He could see her running back to him and his heart sank, already anticipating what she was going to say. The worst part was he didn't know if this was really happening, or if it was all in her head. He too had thought the very same thing the first time his powers gained too much control over him.

"We're going back to my house," Alec said firmly, quickly picking her up before she could object. He walked at a brisk pace, trying to keep the expression on his face free from the worry that was gnawing away at him.

onceuponatimeareview | 8405 comments Aaliyah nodded her head and snuggled into him. She was relaxing in his arms. She thought of so many things going wrong. "I was going to turn myself in." She whispered. Her eyes begin too close as she slept in his arms. She snapped her eyes open. "Alec I'm sorry I caused so much trouble I don't like having this power its horrible." She whispered. "It makes me want more and I love the power." She said. "We need to get out soon before they test me?" She asked softly.

She was weak from using too much power. She looked up at him. "Would you give up everything for me?" She asked.

Jasmine | ModernScrolls (modernscrolls) | 297 comments Alec could feel her relaxing and he repressed the urge to sigh. It seemed like things were quickly unraveling and he didn't know what to do. He couldn't let her know that, though. For her sake, he had to remain as calm and collected as he possibly could.

He shook his head as she spoke, signaling for her to stop. "Don't worry about it. It's really hard at first having powers that you're not supposed to. It'll get easier, trust me." This time he couldn't repress his sigh, and he opened the door to his house before answering her question. "Yes, we need to get out very soon," Alec said grimly, closing the door swiftly behind them.

Alec laid her down on his couch, his brows furrowing in confusion as she spoke. "I already have," he said simply.

onceuponatimeareview | 8405 comments Aaliyah could tell that he didn't want her to speak. She slowly nodded her head. She shut her mouth and didn't say a word to him anymore. She felt like maybe he didn't want to do this. That he didn't care about her but deep down she knew he did. She looked up at him softly. "Can you hold me?" She asked.

There was a thousand things that she wanted to ask right now. She really wanted to snuggled into him and be normal again. "Alec when will I get tested?" She whispered. She looked at him then she jumped a little bit. It was the government calling to see how she was doing and wanted to talk Alec. Aaliyah looked up at him nervous. She didn't want to get caught she was nervous.

Jasmine | ModernScrolls (modernscrolls) | 297 comments He was quiet for a moment before nodding and moving to sit beside her. He pulled her up so that he could hold her and laid back against the couch, closing his eyes and letting loose the sigh that he had held back for so long.

Alec opened his eyes and looked down at her, this time unable to mask the worry and concern in his grey eyes. "I don't know," he said honestly, wishing that he could give her an answer. His body tensed when he heard the phone ring, and he knew who it was without thinking.

"Don't worry, you'll be fine," Alec murmured, although he was trying to convince himself more than her. He pushed himself up and off of the couch before slowly walking towards the phone. He took a deep breath before composing himself and picking up the phone.
"Hello?"

onceuponatimeareview | 8405 comments "How is the girl settling in? We are checking up with all 150 of the new Perfects that were made today. One of them is causing weird weather outbreaks." The official said. "Who ever is doing must be brought in he or she will do a great service to the community and we will make an offer with them that they can't refuse. Do you have any information?" They asked. They weren't going to say she would use as a weapon.

Aaliyah looked up at Alec. She looked scared. Her heart started to pound quickly. She was caught she knew she was. She was going to be a puppet.

Jasmine | ModernScrolls (modernscrolls) | 297 comments "She's fine," Alex said smoothly, removing all anxiety from his voice. "She's been sleeping a lot, actually. I think her body is taking some time to adjust to the change. It happens from time to time." He paused for a moment, quickly thinking of what to say next. When he spoke again his voice took on a tone of confusion, and his expression even matched it. "Weird weather outbreaks? Whoever the perfect is, they must be something special. I'm sure they'll be of great use to the government."

His eyes flickered to Aaliyah as he spoke, assessing the fear in her eyes. He was determined to make sure that nothing bad happened to her.

onceuponatimeareview | 8405 comments ((Sorry I lost the thread))

Her eyes widen some. She didn't want to go. "That's good is she experiencing anything from her past life." He said. "If so we will have to redo her or do some testing." They told Alex. They already knew who the perfect was and what was going on.

Jasmine | ModernScrolls (modernscrolls) | 297 comments ((It's fine.))

"Nothing at all from her past life. I'll tell you something, while it may have been a pain in the butt dragging her to the labs, she sure was easy to wipe." Alec chuckled, as if he found the whole situation amusing. "She doesn't seem to remember a thing. For someone who was such a fighter, I'm a bit disappointed at how easily she fell," he said, almost sneering the last sentence. He hoped that the person on the other end would but into his mocking tone.

onceuponatimeareview | 8405 comments "Well I just want to say we know who is causing the weather outbreaks and we will be coming for her. I know you probably didn't realize it was her. Don't worry we will make sure she comes back to you " he hung up the phone as the door knocked. Was everything coming to a end?

Aaliyah felt a new perfect and a new mind come into hers. She wanted to control who ever was at the door. She looked at Alec. She wanted to control things that's what she wanted to do.

Jasmine | ModernScrolls (modernscrolls) | 297 comments Alec's eyes widened and it felt as if his blood turned to ice in his veins. He looked over at Aaliyah, still holding the phone to his ear even though the line had already gone dead. The knock at the door confirmed his fears and for a moment he didn't know what to do.

"Aaliyah," he said gravely, "If you use your powers right now, can you control yourself?"

onceuponatimeareview | 8405 comments She felt herself losing control. She nodded her head slowly even if she knew she was lying. She wanted power. The perfect at the door was there. She felt the mind come into hers. Her eyes looked at Alec. "I want more" She whispered.

Jasmine | ModernScrolls (modernscrolls) | 297 comments "Aaliyah, you have to control yourself," he said through gritted teeth. He moved towards her and placed his hand on her shoulder, knowing this was a dangerous thing to do. While contact with him sometimes brought her back to reality, it also made him more susceptible to her powers in the event that she couldn't control herself. "Just make him leave. Make him believe that he came in here and you were already gone."

onceuponatimeareview | 8405 comments "I have to control myself." She said. She didn't convince herself. She took over the perfects mind at the same she felt Alecs mind too. "Come in" She said. The perfect walked. "Your going to....." She stopped. "More." She whispered. "Your going to find a way to get me more. Both of you" as she took over Alecs mind.

Jasmine | ModernScrolls (modernscrolls) | 297 comments For a moment Alec thought things were going good, and he started to let out a sigh of relief. His moment of relief was short lived as he felt Aaliyah start to take over his mind. He let out a soft, "Please," that sounded more desperate than anything, before he was completely taken over.

"More what?" he asked, his voice void of any emotion.

It was strange, he realized, being controlled by someone. The odd part was that he was aware of being controlled, making it all the more worse and making him feel unbelievably helpless.

onceuponatimeareview | 8405 comments "I need more power." She said again. She looked at Alec. She wanted more power so desperately. She backed away from Alec. She felt so bad. She started to fight and let Alec go. "I want you to go back and tell them that I was gone that Alec didn't know where I was either." The perfect was gone.

She looked at Alec. "I need more Alec I need more." She whispered. "More power please Alec." Her heart was pounding quickly and faster and faster. She didn't mean to do any of this. "I'm a power hungry monster."

Jasmine | ModernScrolls (modernscrolls) | 297 comments Alec fell to the floor when Aaliyah released him, breathing heavily. He watched as she controlled the perfect, relieved that she had at least done that much and gotten him to leave. He was on the floor for a moment, trying to regain his breath, his mind racing as he tried to figure out what to do.

Without any warning he got up off the floor and kissed Aaliyah, tangling his fingers in her hair. The kiss wasn't soft and gentle like the ones he had given her before. This one was rougher and filled with desperation, yet it still had that sense of longing that each kiss before had.

"I don't know how to give you more," Alec said, his lips brushing against hers as he spoke. He was still breathing heavily, this time left breathless from the kiss. "Aaliyah, I can't give you more. I'm sorry.'

onceuponatimeareview | 8405 comments She didn't move away from his kiss. "I power hungry." She wanted to more. "Can't I control more things. I like controlling things." She said she didn't want to stop. "I want to be able to get more power." She backed away and pacing the room shaking. She liked using her power. "I'm sorry." She felt like shutting out of everything.

"Alex I'm going crazy I don't know what to do everything is wrong. I want more power and...... " She collapsed on the floor. She started to cry. "I'm broken I'm a monster." She whispered over and over again.

Jasmine | ModernScrolls (modernscrolls) | 297 comments Alec let his hands fall to his sides as he watched her pace the room, his grey eyes filled with pain and sadness. He had thought that they could work together to figure this out, but he was slowly realizing that he may not be able to help her.

"The power that you have is all that you have. There's no way to get anymore," he said quietly. "You can control people. You love the feeling of control, but I'm sorry to tell you that I can't give you any more."

Alec watched her fall to the floor and cry, and it hurt him to see her like this. He had no idea how to help her. "You're not a monster," he said, kneeling down next to her. "Don't say that."
