Whitney (whitneychakara) | 76 comments I have no where else to put this but I will say I am on Season 4 Episode 4 suddenly human. I really don't like this episode possibly more so since reading the show bible hopefully it turns out as it should ugh.

Whitney (whitneychakara) | 76 comments They did the right thing in the end YAY.

Whitney (whitneychakara) | 76 comments It seems that we lost some of our reading buddies. I'm 40 percent of the way done and I will be ready to read the next in the series next month. There are certainly things that I don't like about the book, I think they spend to much time on subjects and characters that they shouldn't but I am still liking the book well enough to continue.

After this next is A Time to Diein July. :)

Chris | 27 comments I'm still here. I have just been ahead and didn't want to spoil anything.

Bruce | 44 comments Chakara -What chapter are you on?

message 58: by Andrew (new)

Andrew (mr_andrew_c) | 17 comments I finished book two a while ago and decided to wait for you all to catch up...I'm sure we'll all have more (and probably stronger) opinions after finishing the second book.

I believe 7 . and you?

message 60: by Whitney (new)

Whitney (whitneychakara) | 76 comments This part is really slow everyone -_- whyyyyyyy. I some how feel I'm making it better than it really is for half of the book (so far) they are just sitting idle which doesn't make for a good story IMO. Not only that but they are just discussing the same thing over and over and over like okay so the androssi have your ship and their raiding ish you all cant catch them and you have nothing else to do. -_-

Bruce | 44 comments I'm finished. Watching everyone catch up.

message 62: by Linda (new)

Linda Wrage | 5 comments Hello. I'm a little late coming to the party, but I have been reading the book. In fact, I already finished it. I was surprised how much about Wesley was in the book. I found it to be a pretty interesting read. I did find it hard to understand why they expended so much effort in trying to collect the bodies from that Batter of Rashanar. It didn't make sense to put so many people's lives in danger to do that.

message 63: by Chris (new)

Chris | 27 comments Linda! I always assumed that some high ranking official had a family member die in there, and therefore he had sweeping legislation passed in order to get all the dead bodies out. That is how bureaucracy works right?

For those of you ready to move onto the next book, I've started a discussion thread.

This thread will stay open for anyone who'd like to continue discussing A Time to be Born.

Whitney (whitneychakara) | 76 comments finished rated it 4 stars but If I asnt a TNG fan it would probably be 3. I want to know more about wesleys part in this and hope to find that out in the next book. I was happy not to deal with Troi and Dr. C as much in the book as I'm forced to in the show season four is getting on my nerves because of them lol. Starting the next book as soon as I finish my last book onmy currently reading shelf.

message 66: by Chris (new)

Chris | 27 comments Time to sow is filled with Dr. Crusher, I'm about halfway through it right now.

Glad you liked this one...did you just finish Time to be Born? (don't want to spoil anything) or did you finish both Time to be Born and Time to Die?

message 67: by Whitney (new)

Whitney (whitneychakara) | 76 comments chris im on my tablet so I cant respond directly hut I just finished time to be born . hmmm ill see about that crusher book she doesnt annoy me as much as troi seems to.

message 68: by Brian (new)

Brian | 12 comments I just started this after reading Homecoming, and I am impressed with Vornholt's writing style after comparing it to Golden's rather juvenile writing style. I can't recall reading any Vornholt before now, and I am impressed, even though I am only through a chapter or two.

I am also happy that someone picked up on the Traveler story line finally.

message 69: by Whitney (new)

Whitney (whitneychakara) | 76 comments Yay, can't wait to here your thoughts I think the traveler thing is interesting as well.

I found that funny as well. They "rescue" bodies from ships at the risk of those that are living, just so they can put them in a torpedo case and launch them into a sun... I suppose it's a Federation thing of being in control even in where a person ultimately ends up. I greatly prefer Klingons who just discard the body as a husk. I think that's far more poetic.

By the way, I joined the group late, but I'm reading it real quick.

I had a Skipper Barbie when I was a kid. But I still associate the word skipper with The Skipper on Gilligan's Island. Which is to say he's the captain of the ship. :0 *Sings* A Three hour cruise, a Threeee hour cruuuise"

Brian | 12 comments OK, I finished it today. I found the 1st half of the book a bit hard to get into, but I enjoyed the turn of events about half way, and greatly appreciated a change of scenery.

I am not sure I want to read 7 more books that mention swirling vortexes so much. Hopefully, the authors know better.

(view spoiler)

message 73: by Eric Butler (new)

Eric Butler | 1 comments Each set of two books changes locations and missions. So, you're only at the swirling vortex for one more book.

message 74: by Leland (new)

Leland (lelandhw) | 5 comments The second book was quite good I thought.

message 75: by Whitney (new)

Whitney (whitneychakara) | 76 comments That sounds good. Looks like I'm going to be in the late bunch with the second book though stupid 2500 page research paper is getting in the way of my good time -_-. How dare this professor.

Leland (lelandhw) | 5 comments School always got in the way of my reading time. Now work always cuts into my reading time.

Work never cut into my reading time most of the time I worked alone so I just read when I had no busy work to do . The camera was right above my head I can't believe they didn't fire me sooner.
