The departure of the train from the platform at the precise moment I arrived made me curse out loud. Now I'd have to wait for the next one. Well, seems like this is going to be a long wait. I sat down on one of my benches, wondering why I didn't have any tears rolling down my face, but then I realized - I had exhausted so my tears by crying every other night since what seems like forever. Life is so eccentric; it doesn't let you live in your moments of happiness forever, but it doesn't mind letting you stop in times of sadness your whole life time. The remote control of life is by an ersatz company: The rewind button never works, the fast-forward button works only when you don't want it to, the volume buttons don't even exist, the pause button works during all the wrong times...... The play button is the only button that works! If life is a stage and we're all just actors, shouldn't there be a way to quit the drama when it gets insufferable? Well, I think I finally found that hidden cancel button.
Besides, if it's all just a stupid play, why do we bother? Why bother doing something you don't want just to please someone else? Why bother growing up and getting a job and making money? Why bother cheating and betraying others just to add a twist to this sick drama? We're all going to die someday. Does it matter whether we had a job as an engineer instead of a writer? Ultimately, both the engineer and the writer are just going to meet the same inevitable fate. Well, let's say I was allowed to not become what I don't want to be and could become a researcher instead! It's surreal, but perhaps then I could be the scientist who discovered the medicine the keeps people from dying. That would make a difference!
