A thought: I have been reading how Amazon promotes books more if they have a high number of genuine reviews. Good ones, of course! It doesn't take long to write a few good words on Amazon (and Goodreads too, of course) and this is such a good way to promote and support.

Amazon has IP address detectors. It'll tell if your faking a review.

Oh, C.E., I wasn't suggesting anything disallowed or underhand! I noticed that someone was saying something good about your book and that is so helpful. I was suggesting that when people want to help raise the profile of something they have read, it can be very helpful to leave a review. But many people don't know how to do that on Amazon so I was trying to be helpful by saying you can put your own name or if people worry about having their own name on Amazon they can use something anonymous.

I don't have a single review from a relative for any of my books. All my reviews are genuinely given freely. Even those where they don't say they are verified by Amazon are simply someone who has bought it in one country and left a review in another. A Canadian has left a review but not in Canada. Not sure why, but we have no basis to question what a reader wants to do. I'm OK with that.

Thank you for alerting me to how that last line could be misconstrued. I hadn't noticed it. I'm deleting it!
