30.2: SCHATZIE’S TASK: Pros & Cons

This is a two book task. Read one book from each option.

Within the next 2 months, I’ll be changing jobs at work, which like most things, has its pros and cons.

Option One: The PROs
The PROs are: better hours and more time with family.
Read a book from one of these two lists:
Best Happiness Books

OR
Best Books About Family Relationships

Required: State which list you used and what page number your book can be found on.

Option Two: CONs

The biggest CON with this change is that I won’t be able to listen to AUDIOBOOKS all day long like I do now. Read a book that contains at least 3 of these 4 vowels in the title and subtitle (A-I-O-U). They need to appear at least once (and it's ok if they appear more than once), but there can be NO “e” used in either the title or subtitle.

Examples:
Aquarium - vowels, a, i, u
Plainsong - vowels a, i, o
Turn Coat - a, o, u
Faithful - a, i, u
A Night Too Dark - a i, o
Anansi Boys- a, i, o

Camilla | 501 comments What about numbers that, when pronounced, contain an E? I'm thinking of Around India in 80 Trains. As it is written, there is no E, but pronounced - eighty - there is. Is that allowed?

message 6: by Donna (new)

Donna | 1271 comments Hi Camilla, I will except numbers, I just didn't want any "e"s at all in the title our subtitle. So as long as they aren't spelled out, it will work for this task. Enjoy.

I would like to read The Happiness Equation but it isn't on you list. Will you accept it for a book about happiness even though it isn't on the list?
The Happiness Equation: Want Nothing + Do Anything = Have Everything

Donna | 1271 comments I have good news and bad news Laurah30.

The bad news: Your book has to be on the list

The good news: You can add your book to the list. Just go to that list and click on "add a book".

Goodluck. Let me know if you have questions about that process.

Please see the Rules of the Challenge:

"3. For tasks that require reading a book from a Goodreads listopia list or shelf, the book must appear on the list or shelf when you access it and the player may not add books to the list to be used for that task."

If that is the answer - I can't add the book to the list, I am not sure what the point of this challenge really is ... I thought you were trying to encourage people to read different genres of book. I was given this book to read last summer by a colleague, and I haven't read it yet ... not sure what the issue is since it fits the genre ...

Bea Laura, it may fit the genre, but it does not fit the task. Part of the challenge of this group is finding the book that will fit the task.

Thanks Bea. I like the way you worded that. Perfect.

thanks for taking the time to provide clarification. As a first time participant in this challenge, I find your answers very interesting ...

Sorry for the misinformation Laura. I hope your question has been clarified.
