Are you ready to start this tomorrow Sundara? I'll have a day off so I hope to have some time to read :)

I'm now on page 103 and I like this book a lot. This is refreshingly different from many books and I love the kind of horror aspect it has.

I find it a bit confusing (view spoiler)[ that the point of view in the narration seems to switch quite randomly. Most of the chapters are written from Nessa's point of view but occasionally there are others as well. On the other hand, I like it because it makes it possible to see what those other characters go through during their Call. (hide spoiler)]

I wonder how (view spoiler)[ Nessa will survive the call with her disability. I think she will survive, though. I also wonder if any other kids will be called at the same time so they can meet in the fairy land. (hide spoiler)]

I'm not sure I like (view spoiler)[ the fact that there's something weird going on in the school and that people are being killed in the other survival colleges. I think surviving the call would have been enough to keep the plot interesting. (hide spoiler)]

I love the (view spoiler)[ horror of the fairy land, although it is quite creepy with all those humans twisted into monsters. (hide spoiler)]

This book is very quick to read and I hope to finish it in a couple of days. I'll be working night shift today so I won't have much time to read but tomorrow I should have more time again.

I'm glad to hear you liked it Melanie! I just finished it a while ago and enjoyed it very much.

The only thing I didn't really like was (view spoiler)[ the sidhe attack at the school. I think the story would have been perfect if it had concentrated only on the callings. There was no need to bring the sidhe into the world of humans. (hide spoiler)]

I was already starting to suspect (view spoiler)[ Nessa won't be called at all but I'm glad she was. If she hadn't been called it would have been a disappointment. I also liked it that she didn't survive the call completely on her own accord because that would have been quite unrealistic. And it was nice that all the survivor stories this book provided were quite different and each survivor stayed alive with a different method. Actually none of them would have survived without help either from another human or because the sidhe wanted to use them. (hide spoiler)]

I liked the (view spoiler)[ ending of this book because everything was not perfect. The sidhe still remained and the calls still continued, so the ending wasn't too happy for my taste :) (hide spoiler)]

I just LOVED (view spoiler)[ the horror aspect. I don't read books that fall in the horror genre very often. I don't really know why because when I do read them I usually love them. But maybe it's good this way because now when I sometimes get my hands on a horror book, I find it a refreshing change! (hide spoiler)]

Just to let you know (view spoiler)[the author has hinted VERY strongly that he is currently writing the sequel. So I think we will be back in this world before long and hopefully get more answered dealt with then! (hide spoiler)]
