Kara (view spoiler)[seems so alone. I hate it that she feels like she has to be with someone as awful as Noelle because she's her only friend. I'm afraid her secret is that she was raped, but I ope not. (hide spoiler)]

Charlie (view spoiler)[seems to genuinely care about Kara and she definitely seems to have an interest in him. I hope they have a little romance, as long as he's not the one sending her notes. (hide spoiler)]

Kellen (view spoiler)[was just too young to die! Drowning would be such a horrible way to die. But she must've been so bad to Kara for Kara to actually say she wished she would die...and then 4 months later she did. (hide spoiler)]

Notes (view spoiler)[ I wonder who's sending those. They'd freak me out because obviously she's being stalked. I hope nothing really bad comes of those notes. (hide spoiler)]

Justine (view spoiler)[is nice. She sounds older though, not young like Kara. I'm glad she was so nice to Kara. (hide spoiler)]

Kara's mom (view spoiler)[ angers me! She needs to grieve Kellen's death without making Kara pay for it! Kara is alive and needs her mother. Why isn't her mom supportive of her baking cookies? She just might be able to win, but more importantly she should follow her dream and her mom should be supportive! I am Christian, too, but her mom seems like an extremist and I don't trust people like her. (hide spoiler)]

Nick (view spoiler)[ just had that CREEP vibe to him, and somehow I just KNEW he'd sexually abused her! What a jerk! (hide spoiler)]

Charlie (view spoiler)[ understandably didn't know how to respond when Kara told him everything that she did, and she took it as rejection. I'm so glad that he showed up to her competition and supported her, UNLIKE her own mother! (hide spoiler)]

Kellen (view spoiler)[ really angered me that she didn't believe Kara about Nick. I hate that she called her a baby and so did Nick. I thought it was condescending and rather derogatory. (hide spoiler)]

I was glad that she (view spoiler)[won 2nd place, even though she wanted to be 1st. At least she got her feet wet. I just don't understand why everyone makes such fun of her about her baking. It takes TALENT! I only know this because I have none! LOL Sadly to say, but very true. (hide spoiler)]

This exemplified just how very distraught Kara is still: (view spoiler)[about her sister and that Kellen didn't believe her: "The bottom of the bowl is Kellen's dead, gray face. Blood splashes up the sides of the bowl, coating it, and onto Kellen's eyes and nose and mouth." Additionally, she says, "I scan the crowd--Mom isn't there. But Kellen is; she stands out in her red hoodie." I think the mentions of RED and the illusions of seeing her sister and her "dead, gray face" with "Blood splashes up the sides" is indicative of just how much she really felt her sister's death: physically, mentally, and emotionally. Noah (view spoiler)[ got caught doing something he shouldn't have but for a good reason. I am glad that he wasn't the actual stalker. (hide spoiler)]

Kellen (view spoiler)[was murdered? OMG!! I guess I didn't see that one coming. (hide spoiler)]

Hayden (view spoiler)[was one of my suspects because of the scene when he was alone with Kara who was only in her early teen years and HE was a junior in college and he patted the seat next to him for her to sit by him. He eventually proceeds to KISS her! Uh, I don't think so!! I don't remember exactly what he said to her, but he was definitely fishing to see if she'd bite. Hayden was so ready to seduce her, so he was a strong suspect. (hide spoiler)]

The end (view spoiler)[choked me up a little. I knew she loved Kellen and those last few pages exemplified that. She missed her sister and her sister wasn't as bad as she was portrayed. I wish she still had Kellen so they could be adult sisters. (hide spoiler)]

I just read up to chapter 7 and my thoughts so far-

(view spoiler)[I am really curious as to see the big secret that Kara is keeping about her sister's death. Charlie seems like a nice guy. Her mother is just...wow. And she's being really stupid with these notes, I realize why she wouldn't tell her mom or her Noelle but really! It's beyond creepy this isn't something you keep to yourself. And Hayden? I don't know how I feel about him yet, I am a little iffy on him he's just odd..
