Is Art dependent upon good Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM), or is it entirely independent and a domain that can exist without contributions from these other fields?

In my opinion, most art is INdependent upon STEM. Just from continuing to read my book Proust was a Neuroscientist, I am learning that so many artists including poets, authors, composers, painters, chefs, etc. had begun discovering the science of the brain almost a century before neuroscientists begin to unravel somewhat how the brain works.I'm not saying all art is independent. I believe that cubist art, for example, may use mathematical concepts? Of this I'm not quite sure, but it seems this way. And a lot of modern art is certainly geometrical.
I consider architecture an art form. And this definitely needs mathematics and engineering at least.
