I LOVED this book. Loved. Its very dark and sad, but at the same time, uplifting and inspiring. Really hard to describe the experience reading it!

I agree - this book wasn't at all what I expected, and the story was so interesting! It'll be a fun group read.

YAY. I couldn't read this book when I picked it for a book club book a while back because I ended up in the hospital. So I have been saving it because I have heard great things. Author Q&A will shove it right up there with DEFINITELY reading it in June :D

It was a great audiobook. Loved the story and the characters. The ending surprised me completely. this book is so emotional.

Rose Under Fire was great, Jenny. Not as breathtaking as Code Name Verity, but I'm not sure it would be possible to pull off a book like Code Name Verity more than once.

Hmmm. I don't want to give anything away. I liked the way the book started, it sort of grabbed you right away. Then it got kind of bogged down in information on airplanes and flights and I kept waiting for things to pick back up again. It was touching in some parts and sad to read about the horrors of war. You should give it a try. It seems like a lot of people really loved it.

YAY!! It takes a while to figure out how and when to listen that works for you. I listen anytime I'm on the move but can't read a physical book. :) Cleaning, getting ready, walking, exercising, grocery shopping, driving, etc.

That's pretty much the same approach I'll take, and also when I can't keep my eyes open at night to read anymore, I'll sneak in a few more minutes of listening time before I fall asleep LOL

Holy schnikes! 52% in so far. I hit a twist I did not see coming!! And I love this narrator!!

I started this one on audio!! Almost done with part 3. Audio books take a bit of getting used to, but I'm enjoying the story. I had a suspicion that (view spoiler)[she was narrating her own character in the third person. I thought she was Maddy not Queenie. I like Maddy better LOL (hide spoiler)] Oh and I LOVE when (view spoiler)[ she messes with that lady that's watching her, like when she immediately broke the pencil point immediately after she sharpened it LOL! (hide spoiler)]

Yeah, it had me confused at parts, but I'm partway through part 5 now and everything's clicking together.

Oh and I just had to say that I've now fallen asleep listening to an audio book LOL!!! It had nothing to do with being bored; rather, I didn't want to stop listening and I kept saying "just another five minutes." Then I fell asleep HAHA

I have to rewind almost from where I started because I unknowingly had drifted off several times before finally crashing for good. And for me, it's the soothing voice that knocks me out. Especially this narrator!

I know right!!

This book is probably my favorite of the year thus far. Also Verity(view spoiler)[/Queenie/Scottie/Julie (hide spoiler)] has become one of my favorite female characters.
