As the story progressed, who did you first suspect to be Emma's father? Did your opinion change before he was finally revealed?

Veronica (readingonthefly) | 694 comments I thought it had to be either Lord Seaton or that Weston guy. The diary of Emma's mother seemed to narrow it down to those two for me.

At first I thought it was Seaton and then I began to suspect the vicar, Underwood. For some reason, Weston was a long shot for me. I just couldn't see her giving him the time of day or him having the personality to commit rape.

Charlene (charlenethestickler) | 1392 comments I kept trying to figure it out, but I never came to a firm conclusion.

Lauren (laurenjberman) | 2240 comments The vicar was highest on my suspect list. Seaton was a more distant second. However, in hindsight, the letter is clear that Emily was not taken with Seaton while she did seem to like the vicar. Consequently, it is more likely that Seaton would need to force her.

Good point. It wasn't until that letter was revealed that my list started to shift.

Me too!

Mary Beth | 193 comments I thought it was Lord Seaton and actually at one point thought that Lady Seaton was the killer and then I thought it was the vicar. I thought for sure that he was the killer.

Joanna | 139 comments I thought Seaton.
