Thanks! Didn't think of that!

Sarah (is clearing her shelves) (sarahjf1984) I'll be reading Daughter Of Fortune Daughter Of Fortune by Isabel Allende for this prompt. Once again a book I own a paperback edition of this thanks to my library's book sale and once again I've had it for too long without ever getting around to reading it.

Leeann Gaudet | 6 comments I read the book of tomorrow - Cecilia Ahern (Ireland)
I have always wanted to go to Ireland and it's definitely on my bucket list. I absolutely loved P.S I love you. The book of tomorrow was not too bad. It was a little slow moving at first and then once I got into it it got better. A little bit of magic, a little bit of drama and a little bit about obsession. It wasn't too bad, but it wouldn't be one of her best books just coming from my perspective.

Elyse (winesaboutbooks) I've picked Beartown. Fredrik Backman is from Sweden. I would love to go but haven't been yet! The book doesn't come out until May. I've read all of his other works and love his writing so I'm not worried!

I've never been to England.

message 59: by Melissa (new)

Melissa | 6 comments I'm going to read These are the Names by Thomas Wieringa (from Holland) for this one.
If you haven't been to Turkey, I recommend Istanbul: Memories and the City or really any of Pamuk's books

message 60: by Erika (new)

Erika wickwire I just finished The Woman in Cabin 10 and decided to use it for this category since Ruth Ware is from England and I have never been there.

Nichelle | 58 comments Just finished Sofrito, by Phillippe Diederich. He is from the Dominican Republic. I would have given it 5 stars but there were just too many Spanish words I didn't know and I had to look them up. It took away from the flow of the story.

message 62: by Evelyn (new)

Evelyn | 30 comments The only country outside from U.S I have visited is Mexico. I read When Dimple Met Rishi by Sandhya Menon. The author is from Mumbai, India.

message 63: by Aleesha (new)

Aleesha | 4 comments I read Labyrinth Lost author was born in Ecuador!

message 64: by Zoe (new)

Zoe (zoezoe) I read Born a Crime by Trevor Noah. He's from South Africa. He is also a person of color. If you like biographies I recommend reading it. It's really interesting and just a good book. I also recommend the audio version. The author reads it and does a wonderful job.

message 65: by Chinook (new)

Chinook | 731 comments I'm using The Three-Body Problem for this. It's a tiny stretch - I have been to Hong Kong, but not Mainland China and I think it can be argued that this early two places can be considered separately.

I listened to the audiobook as my last book of 2016. I stretched and called it my political memoir and I finished it at 1146PM on NYE. :)

And yes, I definitely recommend it. I thought it was wonderful.

message 67: by Amanda (new)

Amanda Presotti | 23 comments I read El país de las mujeres by Gioconda Belli for this one, it was good. She's from Nicaragua.

poshpenny | 1916 comments I listened to The Great Passage by Shion Miura. (Japan) It was lovely.

message 70: by Trina (new)

Trina Dubya (trina_dubya) I haven't been to Japan, so I chose Kitchen by Banana Yoshimoto. It was actually two novellas in the volume I read -- Moonlight Shadow being the other -- and I enjoyed them both.

message 71: by Anshita (new)

Anshita (_book_freak) | 273 comments I chose to read a play Death of a Salesman by Arthur Miller set in New York. This play has been highly recommended by my professors in college and I'm happy I finally get to read it.
