Adding "new edition" NOOK book

(Make sure after adding editions of a work that you combine. There's a menu choice to add an edition but for inexplicable reasons it creates a new book so still needs to be manually combined.)
Or you can just ask a librarian to do for you.

As D.A. said, you need to make sure that you are adding a NEW edition with the BNID - the edition with the ASIN cannot also have an ISBN/BNID. This means that the reader will need to make sure they have the correct edition selected before they can use the purchase links :)

I have no idea what you mean about saving twice, nor was it it in above instructions. Either way the only way the B&N link works is if I got in as the author and go into that specific edition.
If I look from my husbands account the combined edition is the only one that comes up (great), but the B&N link does not work.
If I go to separate and try the steps again, the separate tool does nothing but bring me back to the home page. At this point I am done, having now screwed up my first book I have emailed the help link to get it resolved.

As an author, you are allowed to create new editions, upload covers to editions that don't already have cover images attached, and to combine editions. You are also allowed to choose which edition you want set as the default. You are NOT allowed to separate books that have already been combined.
I'm not certain you've screwed anything up. However, it would be really, really helpful if you could include a link to the book in question. I'm having trouble finding it, since you posted your request here under your personal profile. I'm guessing you publish under a different name?

Yes, when I posted I didn't realize I was in my personal profile. The link is here https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/2...
Thank you for any help.

Yep, that's exactly how it's SUPPOSED to work. When a user clicks on that edition, they can choose to see all other formats available by either a) clicking on 'all editions', just above the green 'get a copy' buttons or b) clicking on the thumbnail pictures of the other editions. Then they can choose to 'shelve' whichever edition they like by clicking on 'Want to Read'. Personally, I'm a kindle owner, so I'm careful only ever to shelve kindle editions, whereas Nook owners may choose to shelve the nook edition. Regardless, this site considers kindle editions and nook editions (and plain ebook editions, for that matter) to be different formats, so each edition will get an entry on Goodreads.
I looked at your books, and the only thing I could see wrong was that the author of the Nook edition was entered as "Jessie G" instead of "Jessie G." Please be aware that Goodreads is sensitive to periods in initials. Leaving the period off meant that edition was listed on a different (erroneous) author profile. I have fixed that now. But regardless, the books were still appearing on your author profile, the format-specific editions were set up correctly, and the 'get a copy' buttons work as designed.
You currently have the kindle edition as the default. If you'd like to change the default to the Nook edition, that will mean the Nook edition is the one displayed on your author profile (and the one that comes up in searches by title). To change the default edition, follow the instructions here:
https://www.goodreads.com/help/show/3...
I will add that Goodreads users are pretty savvy about shelving the edition they want to. Even if you're not quite comfortable yet with how the website works, I assure you that your book is set up correctly and that users will be able to find the edition they want and use the 'get a copy' buttons correctly.
Hope that helps!

Is that something you could help me with too?
Thanks in advance!

How do I add the Barnes and Noble link?
