I just finished this book. I agree that Rachel should be more involved in this book. Also, I would have liked more information about Earl. Overall, I enjoyed the read.

A bit late to this one, but I'm reading it with a friend so I figured I might as well join the discussion here as well.

Through chapter 20 (view spoiler)[I liked the part where he and Earl were playing video games. Hilarious. And the outlines of the movies is pretty funny. Overall not a huge fan, but there are some funny parts.<\spoiler> (hide spoiler)]

Through chapter 25 (view spoiler)[The style is nice, but I'm not a fan of Greg and his humor. It was sad with Rachel in the hospital, but I was glad he lied and told her he wanted to visit her. <\spoiler> (hide spoiler)]

Finished. Not super crazy about it. Some things I like. Some things I don't. I think Rachel was kind if lacking in the story.

So far we learn how to survive high school... too bad I have been out for like 15 years... I liked the background history on Greg, and although some of the things he tells us about makes me thing, he is and A-hole I still can't seem to dislike him...

Pg 164: how Greg ends up in the same hospital as Rachel.. I gotta be honest when he first mentioned ending up in the same hospital as Rachel I did not expect it would be this way...

Pg 200.. How can u disregard someone when u know a bad secret about them...? Greg has to listen to his teacher even though he wants to ignore him... I am feeling weird about Greg... But I do like his honesty up to this part.. This book does make u laugh and also kinda gives u the feeling that Greg utilizes a lot of comedy to cover up for what he truly does not want to feel..

Finished! I definitely loved this book. So much was unexpected and although I have read a lot of reviews I did not think it would be this great.

I just find that books written in the girls POV always end up annoying me- am I the only one who feels that way? Also I am loving the very descriptive introduction we get to this story. I said to myself I would read the book before going to see the film now available in the UK but I don't think the film will be anything like what I'm imagining so might have to give it a miss (view spoiler)[ (hide spoiler)] (hide spoiler)]

Up to but not including chapter 30 (view spoiler)[ so I took this book to hospital this morning as I had an appointment and I was reading the chapters here Greg is high and I was laughing OUT LOUD that much that a woman sitting opposite me said 'That must be a funny book' and I responded by saying 'yeah the characters just got high- my dad was not ammused and told me it was an inapropriate thing to say in hospital but the woman went on to ask if I would reccomend it as a good book to which I told her yes and she wrote down the title and author. In short I am loving this book still and don't want it to end which i know is going to happen since I'm 77% of the way through and Rachel is getting really ill :'( (view spoiler)[ (hide spoiler)] (hide spoiler)]

Chapter 30 to end (view spoiler)[ I have loved this book but i do kind of wish Greg and Earl made friends again in the end. What I most loved about this book is that I didn't cry because Rachel wasn't in the book all that much so it didn't seem like it was desperate to cause tears unlike John Green books where you go into them knowing you're going to cry.
