"The Girl Who Owned A City" is a good book about a girl who has to try to control her town of kids after all adults disappeared because of an illness. Although I haven't read the actual book, I've read the graphic novel which has stunning art so, your son might like that one. ;)

Is this for a boy or a girl? Also, I know that Michael Grant (the author of that series) has a new series out called messanger of fear. Very good books, but very dark

It's for a boy but he has only just turned 13, so may wait a year or so, as quite adult themes. But thanks
ah okay - any of the hunger games/divergent series he'd be the right age for, I know my brother loved those
Definitely recommend the maze runner series I'm twelve and I read them when I was around 11 amazing series quite similar to Gone which I have also read amazing series!

I'm also thirteen and after I read the gone series, I moved onto the Lorien Legacies. They were amazing and very similar to Gone as well!
Thanks all! He is making his way through the Maze Runner series and was given the set of Hunger Games. Once he has run out I will see about getting him book 1 of the Lorien Legacies and maybe Human.4 (which I have on my kindle, but haven't got round to reading yet).I/we really appreciate your input.
