No. I'm in your club too. I've started Love is a Stranger 3 times! but it never works. It's just not my type of writing.

message 906: by Mandapanda (new)

Mandapanda Wow so many amazing books in these posts. I'm seriously thinking of starting my next year elfster list! haha

Right? Every time I look through this thread I add at least 2 books to my, already groaning under the weight, TBR.

Yeah, his writing style doesn't appeal to everyone. Love is a Stranger took me a bit to get into, but then I loved it. But I can see where it wouldn't click with a lot of people. His writing style is a bit...different, I guess.

Karen (bookfanatic55) | 901 comments Web of Secrets by Terry Poole found this on my shelf at ARe because Gallic cheesy elf might have dropped it there on their way to the cheese store probably. Thank you so much for this one. It really means a lot to me. I had it on my wish list and planned on buying it after our exchange was done because I was fortunate enough to meet this lovely author and spend some time chatting with her at GRL and she talked to me about this book and Seeing is Believing by Terry Poole and they both sounded so good. Again huge thank you hugs for you, Gallic cheesy elf. You are awesomesauce!

And I also read How To Be A Normal Person by T.J. Klune How To Be A Normal Person this year as well, I'm pretty amazed and impressed at the different 'voices' in each book. LSH was so darn funny. This was one of the quotes I had to add:

Funny, another author that you either love or ,,,unable to read! I can't get through any of his books, and I have a few, all bought because of the wonderful reviews people leave. I wonder if there are two different authors with the same name and I keep getting the wrong one! lol

From what I heard, "How to be a Normal Person" is a great read :)

I read Bear, Otter, and the Kid (Bear, Otter, and the Kid, #1) by T.J. Klune Bear, Otter, and the Kid a few years back and found it amusing,
(view spoiler) but the inner dialogue was exhausting and didn't dip my toe back in until earlier this year with How To Be....and really liked it.

I think you might get tired of the humor in LSH (I died laughing throughout) but you might like Wolfsong by T.J. Klune Wolfsong. An interesting take on the werewolf. Not the usual werewolf trope.

message 933: by M'rella (new)

M'rella (mrella) | 800 comments I have the book. I will give it try, everyone seems to love it :)

message 934: by Shannon (new)

Shannon (pokey36) I'm kind of the same M'rella. I have made it through a few but I'm usually exhausted when I'm finished. And dare I say it? I'm not a big fan of his. *Gasp*

LOL! I know what you mean! I've heard many people say they can't read his books. But I loved all the ones I've read (which haven't been too many yet)
I read Tell Me It's Real, Wolfsong, The Lightning-Struck Heart, How To Be A Normal Person, Crisped + Sere and Withered + Sere. I have almost all his other books but you know how it is :)

And yes, How to Be... is a great book IMO! Funny but also so unbelievably sweet!

Mandapanda Some feedback for Dirty Kinky Elf. I read your gift Jack of Thorns and LOVED IT!!
