The forest surrounding the elves homes. Elven magic enchants the land, so that it does not die, and sometimes people traveling through will see glowings runes in the bark of the trees.

Cricket trotted through the Forest on his way to Eyis, where he hoped to perform for a few scraps of food. The ends of his scarf flew behind him and a beautiful melody trailed from his panpipes. The runes enchanting the surrounding trees ebbed with the rhythm of the song.

Eve O. Spellman Silver had been walking down the path, when she stopped to listen to the melody. She stood off to the side of the path. She closed her eyes and slightly swayed to the music. She hummed along.

((Sorry for my absence.)) Cricket's ears twitched as he picked up on the sound of someone joining in. He played a little louder and with more enthusiasm. His head was on a swivel as he kept an eye out for her. He was so engrossed in trying to find her, that he actually missed her entirely and trotted right by where she stood, off the beaten path. Had anyone observed the scene they would have found it quite comical.

Eve O. Spellman ((Np))

Silver opened her eyes as she heard someone pass. She stopped humming and, smiling said, "Hello there." She had a calm, slightly sad but cheery voice.

Cricket turned nervously and stopped playing. "Oh, geez! Heh heh. You startled me! Was that you singing? You're really good."

Eve O. Spellman Silver smiled shyly. "Yes it was. Thank you."

((You have Batman in the group Gotham.))

Cricket bowed slightly. "My pleasure. Say, have you ever considered taking your talent on the road?" He scratched his chin thoughtfully. "We could start a troupe. Earn a little cash. Become famous!" Here he waved his arms dramatically.

message 11: by Eve O. Spellman (new)

Eve O. Spellman Silver blushed a little and looked at her feet. "Never really thought about it."

((Hey! Sorry, I've been busy. How's it going?))

"Well, with a voice like that, why ever not?" Cricket looked at her curiously, and his eyes settled on her silver circlet. "Oh, I see. You must be some kind of princess. Pardon me, your majesty!" He bowed low.

message 13: by Eve O. Spellman (new)

Eve O. Spellman ((Fine. You?))

Silver laughed. "I am no princess. And thank you." She said, she bowed to him.

((I'm doing excellent. Just relaxing. What have you been doing since we last talked?))

Cricket's face became bright red. "Er...Beg pardon, your majesty, but, if you're in disguise, you can tell me. Mum's the word. And you may want to remove your crown. I've a satchel here for it. Er... You have my word I won't steal it. Here are my pipes as insurance." He felt a knot in his stomach at the prospect of losing such a sentimental object.

message 15: by Eve O. Spellman (new)

Eve O. Spellman ((Life. XD))

Silver shook her head. "I'm just an elf. A Noldor Elf to be precise. I am not of royal blood. You can keep your pipes."

((Cricket's not that bright, is he?))

"Oh." Cricket's face darkened. "Sorry. It's just the circlet. I thought it was a crown. Sorry." He put his pipes around his neck again. "May I accompany you to the city? That's where you're going, is it not?"

message 17: by Eve O. Spellman (new)

Eve O. Spellman ((He's fine and funny.))

Silver tilted her head slightly when his face darkened. "You are fine. I am and you can join me if you wish."

Cricket leaped to his hooves and nearly tripped in doing so. "Ah yes! And once we get there, we can sleep in real beds made of feathers, with a roof over our heads, playing music for the people's enjoyment--and a bit of profit to boot. We can buy roasted almonds and peanuts..." He continued like this for quite a while as he half led, half followed Silver through the forest.

message 19: by Eve O. Spellman (new)

Eve O. Spellman Silver smiled, listening to him talk. She stayed near him, glad for the company. Singing for entertainment. Sounds like a plan.

Cricket smiled when the city of Eyis came into view. "Ah... There she is. So beautiful, isn't she? Er... The city I mean. Heh. Look at the houses in the trees. Such an incredible feat of architectural brilliance, that. Yes, This will be a fine stage indeed. Come! Let us make our presence known!"

message 21: by Eve O. Spellman (new)

Eve O. Spellman Silver laughed and followed him. "You are indeed right. But I am not found of houses in trees. Not fond of the height."

"Okay. You can stay here while I go up. Uh.. Will that be alright with you?" Cricket scratched his head at the base of his horns. "Otherwise, We could blindfold you and I'll carry you up."

message 23: by Eve O. Spellman (new)

Eve O. Spellman Silver smiled at him kindly. "I can stay here if that would be easier for you but I will be fine with coming with you, not blindfolded."

"Oh, good. Cause I'll admit, carrying you may have been an overly ambitious idea. Heh heh. So are we going up then?"

message 25: by Eve O. Spellman (new)

Eve O. Spellman ((Your post in Gotham City.))

Silver chuckled. "Yes we are." She said and then motioned with her hand for him to go first.

Cricket obliged and made his way up the swinging vine ladder that grew from the bottom of the tree house. His hooves slipped a bit as he pulled himself upward. He hoped that it wasn't obvious enough to give Silver a cold shoulder. When he reached the top, he shouted down. "Okay. I'm up. Your turn."

message 27: by Eve O. Spellman (new)

Eve O. Spellman Silver bit her lip. "What great fun." She muttered before climbing up, making sure she had a tight grip before pulling herself up. She kept her eyes riveted on the ladder and not on the ground, taking deep breaths to calm her nerves.

At the top, a pair of raven-haired Elvish guards in green and silver scale mail stood silently, watching the newcomers with slanted emerald eyes. They appeared to be twins, one male and the other female. Both wore white capes over one shoulder, embroidered with a leaf pattern at the bottom, a pair of matching leather gloves, and a hunting knife made of deer antler at their side.. The female carried an antler bow with a quiver of arrows at her right hip. The male wielded a staff with a decorative leaf shaped blade and silver spear tip. They made no move whatsoever, betraying no hostility.

message 29: by Eve O. Spellman (new)

Eve O. Spellman Once Silver had arrived to the top she gave the guards a polite nod. She admired their clothing and weapons, wondering where exactly they acquired them from.

"Names and purpose?" The male said in Elvish. The female translated in Common for Cricket, who stammered nervously to explain his plan to her.
"Kermillion Thistlegrass. I uh... I go by Cricket. This is my partner in cri... I mean business partner, Silver. We wish to perform here in your beautiful, lush, green, flourishing, beautiful..." He paused. "Oh, I said that already, didn't I? Heh!" He laughed an odd bleating laugh.

message 31: by Eve O. Spellman (new)

Eve O. Spellman Silver couldn't help but give a small laugh. "I am Silver Nightingale." She said in Elvish, giving a polite curtsy. "What my dear friend Cricket says is true. We do wish to perform here in your wonderful land and mean no harm." Silver said smoothly.

The male elf looked toward his partner, then back at Silver. He spoke again, still in Elvish. "You are an Elf, yet you speak our tongue with an unfamiliar dialect. Where are you from?"

The female raised an eyebrow curiously at Cricket before asking her own question to Silver. "And pray tell, is your friend here an idiot?"

message 33: by Eve O. Spellman (new)

Eve O. Spellman Silver laughed a little again. "I am from Noldor. But I did my best to learn as many languages as possible. And no, my friend is not. He's just unique and I believe he is not used to Elvish company."

The twins glanced at either again. "Come with me."The male directed. "We go to see the King." He left his sister and made his way toward a long bridge that spanned the widest section of the Silver River and led it's way toward an enormous tree in the center of Eyîs. A palace had been formed in and around it. A million waterfalls poured through its canopy, cascading into rainbow pools of foam below. Cricket stared in awe. "Nice digs. Heh!"

message 35: by Eve O. Spellman (new)

Eve O. Spellman Silver did her best not to look down, not wanting to panic due to her fear of heights, as she followed the Elf Guard. Going to meet the king...Oh I do hope I know enough to at least be on the good side of their king.

Silver was amazed by the beauty of this place. She couldn't help but wonder how they manage to create this place.
