Help finding a book or author....

The only task I have left is a book by a transgender author or about a transgender character. To make things even more difficult for me, I am diversifying my authors and trying to read non-White authors. Oh, and I am looking for fiction.

So to summarize, I am looking for recommendations for a transgender author of color who writes fiction.

if poetry will do it I recommend Waiting in Arabic by Trish Salah? Is Lebanese "of color." Salah is a Canadian of Arab descent.

I have looked through NoveList, which is a online data base that many public libraries subscribe to. After googling about 20 different authors, here is the one I found that is an author of color. It is not clear to me that he is transgendered. Hopefully this will help you, nevertheless:

I read "George" by Alex Gino, but they are white, I believe. Their book is heart-achingly wonderful. It's about a young girl who was assigned male at birth and she is beginning to understand her Trans identity and figuring out how to live in the world around her - who to trust, how to come out, what life is like when she is living her true identity. Its beautiful and I highly recommend it as a "bonus" book to read once you've completed your challenge according to the guidelines and goals you set for your "Read Harder" experience.
