SOLVED. YA Disaster/Apocalypse book w/ people becoming enraged and killing eachother due to possible possession.(Has bus crash scene + Church murder) [s]

So about 3-4 years ago I read a YA book, I'm not too clear on the details or if I'm getting more than one book mixed up so if any one of the things I mention ring a bell just mention it anyway.

Title/Cover: I THINK it may of had an 8 in it. Perhaps a title where 8 substituted a letter? (Like H8ted or D8rk). I also think the background was plain white with either red or black bold writing (Sort of like those zombie 'the enemy' books) but I'm pretty sure it was a hardback so covers might be different depending on what you're familiar with.

Plot: I remember the first scene being in the point of view of this dark spirit or possessive demon species that are saying things like 'Scratch. tap tap, flying through the sky, we are here' sort of thing. I also remember a bus crash where everyone falls on top of each other and some suffocate/get crushed to death. This may have been set in the UK because I think the main character is upstairs and has to make their way downstairs and here in the UK we have double deckers. The idea of the story is that a few people get possessed by this spirit or something that makes them want to violently kill other people (Possibly eat?) but its not obvious just by looking at them so many people die in the book because of trusting the wrong person who happens to be possessed who tricks them until the right moment where they kill them. I remember one scene where an oldish man attacks the main character (I think MC is a girl?) with some sort of object after tricking her into thinking that he was just another survivor.
I also remember one scene where the MC is with their mother? in a church which has been set up as a safe place and the police or some sort of member of authority come in and everyone thinks that they are safe but its really a possessed person which then proceeds to kill mostly everyone in the church not including MC.

I hope I can get somewhere with this, I don't know why but I've been wanting to re-read this book for over a year, I think its a series and I'd like to revisit it now that I'm not a teenage.
