Jody (epacse) | 9 comments Hello,

I read an adult romance novel between years 2013-2015 about a woman who was returning to small town USA to care for her mother. She left the town after graduating from high school. I cannot remember why the towns people did not care for her, but when she left it caused scandal. They were mad because she appeared to have left her high school swim coach out on a limb. The coach seemed to be really active with his swimmers and really concerned about their scholarships so the town loved him. But it turns out that he was having inappropriate relationships with the girls on the team. The heroine left because she wanted to get away from him.

She returns home (with a child she had abroad) to take care of her mom and sees that her ex high school sweetheart is the sheriff. He's holding a grudge against her because she broke his heart when she left. He does not know why she left. However, the sheriff soon starts to suspect something.

Once the heroine sees that the swim coach is still doing the same thing to new girls, she gets upset and fed up. She tells everyone what happened. The swim coach is then arrested (I think) or he may have killed himself, I can't remember.

The sheriff forgives her for leaving after finding out what went on with the swim coach and they live happily ever after.

I really liked this book and I wish I could read it again. Thank you so much for your help.

Ayshe | 4721 comments I googled for it and I can't find likely candidate. Have you had a look at the sheriff-in-romance lists:
https://www.goodreads.com/list/show/5...
https://www.goodreads.com/list/show/9... ?

Also, this seems to be about the same book: https://www.goodreads.com/comment/sho... If so, one should be deleted: 2. Don't create duplicates of the same request. Bump your topic/thread every 30+ days (by posting a comment) -- or sooner if you remember more information.)

I locked the other thread and am waiting to see if it's the same book. If so, I'll delete it for you Jody. You might want to bookmark your thread if you can't find it (there is also a thread about How to find an old thread that you can check out.)

Jody (epacse) | 9 comments Wow, I had not realized I had already asked for it. I apologize for making the duplicate. It was a good book. Though the Kele Moon book sounds like it, it is not the same one. But thank you all for your assistance. I won't ask for it again. lol

I hope this is the right protocol if it is not, please let me know. I am just so excited! I found the book!!! It is entitled Running on Empty: An Unforgettable Christian Love Story by Ruth Logan Herne. How ironic I forgot the title.
