lol are you saying your edits are better than ours, simply because you charge for what we give away? (I do charge for edits of course, but not for an initial sample).

Oh - and to continue in slightly gittish but honestly good-humoured mode between editors, it's quite funny to claim that you get what you pay for in editing, and then leave out the word "what".

I do take the point that the manuscript assessment is a slightly different thing and retract the comparison. I do have a manuscript I might be interested in getting some eyes on. What does your manuscript assessment entail? Do you read the whole thing?
