Elaida dreams of teaching her opponents a lesson (LSD driven fantasy), but she is awaken from it by Alvirian to inform her that their trap to bring Rand to Tar Valon has failed miserably.

She also threatens Elaida and asks her to do as she orders. As we know from the start alvirian is black ajah and under Maesana's control.

But Elaida is not giving up easily she asks another sister to conduct investigation regarding how siuan escaped from the tower, she hopes that Alvirian's name will be found in that.

Rand finally agrees to meet the sea folk and treats the aes sedai humanly while negotiating with the sea folk.

Also Rand fully uses his taveren skills to bend the sea folk to his wishes.

He then tries his luck with the Carihien rebels, most of them are damodred i.e. from morarine's family. Unfortunately Padan Fain is present there.

A struggle ensures where is Fain casts a mist over the whole area and manages to wound Rand with the dagger from shadar logoth.

Rand is saved by ashaman healing.

I enjoyed the exchanges between Rand and Moraine's cousin.

Also, I'm not quite sure Rand's been saved. He's been healed by both "the best" Yellow of the Aes Sedai, but one of the best of the Ashaman, but alls he could say was that he gave Rand a better chance.

I feel like Nynaeve is going to be the one to finally heal Rand since she has made other healing discoveries.

I like that there are other groups forming up against the black ajah now and maybe coming together with Rand at some point.
