A lot going on in Egwene's camp and in Ebou Dar in these sections.Egwene is travelling with Gareth Bryne, and he tells her that he has fealty with the Amrylin. Also I think Siuan is in love with Bryne (just an hunch).
There are way too many factions in Egwene's camp among the Aes Sedai, and each of them is trying to manipulate her. But turns out Egwene is quite good a political player and she is managing all of them quite well and achieving her goals.
Nicola & Arenna I think tried black mailing her in the last few chapters but Egwene shows who is in charge. They are at it again in this section, turns out they are hiding Lan, and involved in this are two more aes sedai.
Egwene frees Lan from their clutches and asks him to go to Ebou Dar to protect Nyaneve. Also she asks the aes sedai involved in this plot to swear complete fealty to her.
Mean while in Ebou Dar, three maidens (Nyaneve,Elayne & Aviendha) manage to rope in the sea folk in order to find the angreal which controls the weather.
We encounter Mat and when he is not chasing the three maidens he is killing time by getting drink and betting. During one such time he encounters a women whom we met in the book I think The Great Hunt, and at that time she tried killing Rand but Mat saved him.
He follows that women and discovers a coven of dark friends with Jaichim Carridin at its helm.
Mat is rescued by Queen Tylin who takes a liking for him, also I think she is the one who slips him that paper which tells him that Nyaneve & Elayne should be careful.
Mat also gets attacked at the inn but as always his luck saves him.

Egwyne is starting to build her own block of power. I think not only Elaida but the rest of the Rebels have no idea what's coming for them.
Mat stumbles onto a Dark Friend plot. More of his Tavereen luck? So it would seem.
Meanwhile he nearly gets torn apart between two groups of Aes Sedai staying at the palace. I believe I remember what part is coming up for him next and I'm looking forward to it.
Happy to see Lan again. Was wondering where he had been sent by Moraine's leash.What is the deal with the woman who gives Egwene the backrub? Forsaken or darkfriend? She seemed to be maybe drawing information from Egwene without her knowing. Is she the one who tortured the Aes Sedai and Warder in the last book?
