A.L. Buehrer I'm about to publish a book of poems through Amazon Createspace. Ideally I would want to include my original drawings corresponding to the poems. I'm not sure how to do this, or if it's even possible with the free version of Createspace.

Anybody have answers?

P.D. Workman (pdworkman) Yes, you just upload a pdf. Doesn't matter whether it is text or graphics.

Colour is more expensive.

Significantly so! I debated between black and white and color for one of my books, and choosing color made the book's price simply prohibitive. I had to give it up and go with black and white.

I've done several illustrated books through CreateSpace. On my page you can look at The Dice of Fate and Sunset Reflections - both have free previews on Amazon, so you can get a good look at the print quality etc. I uploaded the images at 300 DPI embedded in a PDF. By the way, I'm not trying to get anybody to read or buy any of my books, not by this anyway- it's just a really good way to see the quality of images that CreateSpace can handle.

One issue I have with them is that everything including text is made of dots, because they use computer printers rather than a traditional printing process. It's not noticeable unless you look closely, though.
