November's challenge

November's challenge is to read a book about an ancient culture. This could be a historical fiction or non-fiction, or just plain fiction. Remember, the rules aren't too strict. If you consider it about an ancient culture, and you want to read it - then read it!

If this is up your alley, what would you recommend to fellow Suevians on either a good place/culture/timeframe to start, or even some specific book recommendations?

I've got nothing on this one except maybe Outlander? Or some books by Rick Riordan? What do you all think? any good suggestions?

Well, one of my favourite books is The Song of Achilles and I'm always eager to recommend it.

Cleopatra, A Life, by Stacy Schiff was really good. Also the book about Madame Tussaud by Michelle Moran, if that is in the past enough to count.
