Central TX is headed for being the next Sahara. Oh, but there's nothing going on with the climate or weather patterns.
Please explain the whole "cheese and pie" thing. I've heard of this sort of thing before and I'm fascinated by it. Is "cheese with pie" common? Not that there's anything wrong with it...the idea just feels...extraordinarily decadent...and I was raised Catholic...so I simply cannot abide by such pleasure without saying multiple rosaries as penance.
A piece of apple pie without cheese is like a hug without the squeeze.
Although I've never tried it.

The claws and the ears do it for me, Bun. :)

Keep this up guys and I will be forced to try this.
Cheese and pie, either way you look at it I am now very hungry! Oh great, now ice cream on the brain, too.
Sandy wrote: "Cheese and pie, either way you look at it I am now very hungry! Oh great, now ice cream on the brain, too."Same here! I'm wondering how hard it will be to bake a pie in my near totally gutted kitchen tonight...
Well although I have heard of bear hugs, I was talking about the pie and cheese.
Cottage cheese is good with pineapple slices - or peaches - if you're in a thrifty mode, as I often am.
home made whipping cream, using the mixer, and whipping it yourself, is to die for on pumpkin pie!!!! my inlaws do for thanksgiving, and now i must have it too!i love apple pie, plain, with vanilla icecream, and yes a slice of cheese is wonderful. is that a southern tradition? like iced tea,and chess pie!
btw, when i was in new england i couldn't find iced tea anywhere, and when i ordered it in mcdonald's the girl looked at me like i was crazy. i ended up buying tea bags, and making iced tea in my motel room because i was dying for it! grow your own mint, and add the mint leaves to your suntea, or steeped iced tea, makes for a cool southern twist! (instant tea is nasty!)

Got it - cheese on the apple pie, no cheese on the pumpkin pie

Cottage cheese & pineapple is great. Lemon & ricotta.
Apple and brie.
Powerhouse sandwich with apple added.
I think I said this in a previous conversation about cheese, but Zu invented a dessert for her last restaurant that was fried cheesecake topped with caramelized apples.
Cheese + fruit = very very good.
Yay!I love cheese and apples. Also cottage cheese with cantelope is divine.
Whipped cream on pumpkin pie is healthy, or so I tell myself as I go for seconds and even thirds. Calcium? Check. Beta-carotenes? Check.
Vitamin A, Vitamin C, Potassium. Couldn't be bad for you, Lori!Hi Heidi! I'm back but I'm swamped at work so I can't be too talkative yet.
It's fitting that I return on a thread about cheese.
