RandomAnthony | 14536 comments You're just daring me to say something about you embracing, aren't you? I will not take such bait. No, sir.

message 203: by Félix (new)

Félix (habitseven) I could probably live on tuna noodle casserole.

message 204: by Sarah (new)

Sarah | 13814 comments You'll be living on a tuna noodle casserole, and Sally will be in a habitat.

Mental note: stay in a hotel when visiting Larry or Sally.

Awwww! Come back, 73! We didn't meant to take it too far!

message 206: by Sarah (new)

Sarah | 13814 comments I'm not going anywhere! I was just thinking that I should find other accomodations, since tuna noodle casserole is good to eat, but it stains your clothes if you sit on it for too long, and Heidi's Pet Vacation Habitats are cute but cramped for more than one person.

message 207: by Sally, la reina (new)

Sally (mrsnolte) | 17373 comments Mod
So you won't be staying with Heidi, but not saying that about me. Right?

message 208: by Heidi (last edited Jul 31, 2009 01:12PM) (new)

Heidi (heidihooo) | 10825 comments Sarah Pi, they're only at my place for 11 days. I'd let you come over to my house and cook for me anytime. I'd even buy the groceries!

message 209: by Sarah (new)

Sarah | 13814 comments No offense of any kind was meant to any individual or their homes. This includes Sally, Heidi, or Larry. I like all of you, and in real life would be delighted to hang out in your tuna noodle casserole habitats.

message 210: by Félix (new)

Félix (habitseven) I was never offended. I was busy thinking about when I would be able to make a casserole this weekend.

message 211: by Heidi (new)

Heidi (heidihooo) | 10825 comments She just doesn't like the smell of tuna noodle casserole. That's my guess.

Michelle, I think you dropped some of your punctuation. Feeling ok? Need a martini?

read: simmer.

message 215: by Sarah (new)

Sarah | 13814 comments ::Picks up stray punctuation marks lying around Goodreads. Hands them to Michelle.::

message 216: by Michelle (new)

Michelle (luvrdn) | 501 comments No I needed a dip in the pool,aah...

message 217: by Félix (new)

Félix (habitseven) I bet those question marks would make excellent earrings.

message 218: by Michelle (new)

Michelle (luvrdn) | 501 comments Thanks Sarah Pi, Sally scares me sometimes...

Jackie "the Librarian" | 8991 comments Then it's lucky Heidi's the bear, because if SALLY was the bear, she'd be EVEN SCARIER!

Sally (mrsnolte) | 17373 comments Mod
Hey! My college friends called me "the bear"! Huh!

message 221: by Félix (new)

Félix (habitseven) Everything comes together here. Now.

Jackie "the Librarian" | 8991 comments Sally wrote: "Hey! My college friends called me "the bear"! Huh!"

What? Only NOW this comes out???

message 223: by Félix (new)

Félix (habitseven) I remember reading about it before, I think.

Jackie "the Librarian" | 8991 comments Who else is a bear, I wonder?

message 225: by Michelle (new)

Michelle (luvrdn) | 501 comments My husband was called pooh bear all his life, when i came along I dropped the pooh and he's just bear to me, his last name is pool, hence the pooh.
I am trying to kick my mom's butt in scrabble but she prospects and that is cheating!! I just had to say that to somebody. Cheater, cheater, cheater!!!Thanks, she's done.

Jackie "the Librarian" | 8991 comments What is prospecting, in Scrabble terms, Michelle?

message 227: by Félix (new)

Félix (habitseven) Probably digging through the letters for the ones she wants.

Thank you for noticing/remembering!

message 229: by Michelle (new)

Michelle (luvrdn) | 501 comments No Larry, but she has tried that before, actually it is searching the dictionary for a word, (which is highly illegal) she likes to go for one spelling and hang out for a while longer when her word doesn't pan out. She is always winning against my other sibling and myself. If you look like your going to win she says this line every time" I could never beat my mom till her last year of life,oh hum..She's a dirty bird!

Sorry it took me so long to answer, I had to finish up our game and take mummsy home, it is after midnight. She's seventy two and to headstrong to quit no matter what the time.

smetchie | 4034 comments People is my guiltiest read by a mile. I absolutely hate it on principal but if I get near one I just can't resist. My mother-in-law has a bathroom chock full of them and when we visit her I disappear into it for unacceptable blocks of time.

message 233: by Gary (last edited Aug 02, 2009 12:04PM) (new)

Gary red beans and rice! first time i ever had it was in a cafe in hot springs , arkansas. they brought me this huge platter of it,and a mason jar of iced tea, that i swear to god, held a gallon of liquid and ice . it was huge. i began to eat.damn good, but so hot, i was like holding the mason jar with 2 hands chugging it,and sweat just poured off of me. the "locals" in the place were all smiles while i was eating. when i finally said, i'd had enough, and i maybe ate a fourth of the platter, the crowd clapped, and said i was no longer a red beans and rice' virgin". i drank several glasses of tea in that mason jar,and when the waitress asked if i wanted a box to go with the leftovers, i said yes,and the whole place erupted in great applause. i stood up and bowed. thank god, i didn't live there, eh? did i eat the rest?? nope. in the trash at the next gas station out of town. good eating, but wow, no way i could ever finish it. we were on our way back to st. louis, to home. and..... we had to stop often for me to pee. most iced tea i'd ever drank in my life , in one sitting!

message 234: by Félix (new)

Félix (habitseven) Great story, Gary.

message 235: by Michelle (new)

Michelle (luvrdn) | 501 comments I bet those beans were even better the next day! I love the spicey.

message 236: by Gary (new)

Gary oh michelle, they were hot , hot , hot. and the side effects a couple days later?

major, gas, honey, major gas. i spent the afternoon on the porch, reading, but had other reasons!! ha!

message 237: by Gary (new)

Gary thanks , larry! we loved hot springs. great place to visit, and spend the day. i want to go back, and try the bath. they say it's great! we didn't have time to do that.

message 238: by Michelle (new)

Michelle (luvrdn) | 501 comments Gary you should always put some sour cream or guacamole in the mix somewhere to cool there departure, If you know what I mean.
I have been told by several people, that I should head south of M.O. for some good food, hot springs, pretty shops in the hills. I might just have to get it together this fall and go while the leaves are putting on a show as well.

message 239: by Gary (new)

Gary hi!!! my dad used to say you should always eat ice cream after chili, and then later you can say, " c'mon, ice cream!" i guess he was right, eh?

message 240: by Michelle (new)

Michelle (luvrdn) | 501 comments Ice cream would do it.

message 248: by Phil (new)

Phil | 11837 comments I can't think of any guilty reads, but I've certainly had my guilty TV.

More than 15 years of All My Children, every episode of Melrose Place, Beverly Hills 90210, Buffy the Vampire Slayer, Xena, Warrior Princess and, more recently, Phineas & Ferb.

And, to round out the thread, I should say

-- I've never seen my parents having sex (ewww, Sally)
-- ricotta (not cottage) for lasagne
-- I think I'll try that kugel thing (though the original link is broken).

message 249: by Lori (last edited Apr 23, 2010 04:08PM) (new)

Lori I've got a great recipe for kugel.
Cottage cheese in lasagne? Ewwwwww Ptouey.
I choose to ignore the parental sex question.

Hey Phil, I was addicted to General Hospital in the 80s.

I also watched Dallas. WHo shot JR? It was all a dream.

Sarah, I love the donkey, I just copied it.

And everyone seems to have loved Buffy, I've never seen it. I don't like vampires. I saw that old Dracula far too young!
