Quantum (quantumkatana) Anyone used any mobile apps to detect paranormal activity? EMF activity is supposed to be an indication of paranormal activity.

or tried an app for communication with the dead? this one is like a ouija board

Marie Silk | 1025 comments I totally don't know what to think about EMF apps :D. I'm usually trying to keep the paranormal activity down around my house, not encourage it lol.

this site recommends using a magnetometer:

http://www.assap.ac.uk/newsite/articl...

i could buy a magnetometer for $750 (https://www.amazon.com/Geo-Magnetomet...)

oh, here's a cheaper ($175) on that's on a USB stick and that works w/Windows (so that means that you could conceivably hook one up to your phone):

https://www.amazon.com/MicroMag-USB-G...

oh but wait! there's a simple magnetometer on the iphone (probably not that sensitive). so you might be able to use your iphone to detect paranormal activity in your house because if there's a strong magnetic activity in an area of your house that has a lot of paranormal activity and you can't confirm a magnetic source, then it would be a confirmed paranormal activity. of course, then the problem comes as to how to get rid of that aforesaid paranormal activity.

here's an interesting case study that points to magnetic fields being able to induce hallucinations:

Graeme Rodaughan A thermometer is also a good device to detect disturbing, and sudden drops in temperature.

You should also look out for the color red.

Great stuff, Alex. Although I think hallucinations could be misunderstood. What if hallucinating people are seeing/hearing stuff that actually is there, but outside the perception of others?

I was watching a science show recently that demonstrated how children could hear higher frequencies than adults...the younger the child, the higher the frequency they could perceive. I think it could be the same with sight. Children many times (or highly perceptive people) can perceive matter vibrating at higher frequencies that others cannot perceive, and some are able to see into the ultra violet spectrum. Is it a "hallucination" if the thing is really there, just outside the "normal" perception of instruments and people?

Magnetics and paranormal do seem to go hand in hand. It is all fascinating to me, but I don't see how an EMF detector is any benefit, unless it is a kind of validation that yes, things are weirder here than at the base point.

Marie Silk | 1025 comments Graham Hancock writes about what people report seeing while on ayahuasca, specifically certain beings with the body of a human and a head of an animal. He goes on to explain how people on hallucinogens or using meditative methods around the world (South America, Africa, Europe) are seeing the same beings who tell them the same information.

I think reality is relative and that all kinds of beings and stuff exist outside our normal perception. A differing magnetic field could be distorting someone's sense of reality, or perhaps it is helping them perceive stuff that is outside their usual reality.

he has a crapload of books! which one do you recommend?

yes, i've heard of this phenomena, but it could be simply reaching back into our Jungian collective unconscious.
