Alexis wrote: "That is not something GOOD, that is something amazing Carole. Congrats!"I know, thanks Alexis. My son didn't know. I got the email. I called him and we got on a three way phone conversation with my younger son and I sent them the email so they opened it together on the phone with me. My younger son does all the covers and websites. They each live about a quarter mile from me, but I think I could hear them screaming. lol
It takes awhile to get used to. For some time they would be calling me Carole and I didn't answer until I realized they meant me. Now I have trouble answering to my real name and when I sign checks I make the mistake of doing them with the pen name. lol.
Finished my husband's present in less than 24 hours! It turned out a lot better than I thought and I actually got inspired to add a similar item to my "summer brain" projects for next year."
Carole, I didn't think of that. I'll definitely be doing the same!! HugsChristina, Great job on getting your hubby's present finished in HALF the time you hoped!! Hugs
I just figured out why I'm getting a few sales on my comedy book! Amazon put an ad on a particular article on HubPages, that features MY book, and people are actually seeing it! W00t!

I found this website that lets you order a bunch of glasses for like ten euro for one so I went crazy and got new glasses in all colors of the rainbow. (Ok, fine, 3 colors.) I had a date. And although I looked and felt like crap, the date itself did not suck.:D
Haven't written a word since my BDAY and I'm starting to get very annoyed about that. Very annoyed. BUT I managed to land an editor and two new beta readers.
Congratulations Carole, amazing news! And to you, Jane on your recently published book.My good thing today was that I took a break- something I've not done in several weeks. I stayed in my pyjamas for far too long, drank hot chocolate and played on my DS for a few hours. It was fantastic :D
I just got a really positive email back from a possible internship with the Chicago Reader! I've been looking for an internship for college credit and this may be a great opportunity!
Also: Finals are over!!!!
Also: Finals are over!!!!
I'm wondering if we could have a Random Thoughts thread.. I'm staying off Twitter and Facebook these days for my sanity but would still love a place to chat about random things that dont fit on my blog.

Browse the fun folder. There's a lot of interesting and fun topics. If you don't see one that fits whatever you feel like talking about, start a new topic. I'm not sure what a "Random Thoughts" thread would be, but it might work. As long as it is upbeat and positive. Topics in the fun folder do not have to be about writing, either. In fact, those are really the best in my opinion. There's only so many ways you can say "I write stories" or "I sold a book" before it starts to sound repetitive.

Congrats!!!
Alexis:Thanks for initiating the therapeutic postings of good news. Post election, book promotion, and need for some love can take its toll! To share and hear about the good things effecting individuals and Goodreads community is a needed/positive change.

The little book I put out only yesterday. People like it! Sales and kind reviews. As this one is quite personal, I find myself particularly pleased that it is giving pleasure.

I don't blame you for unplugging from FB and Twitter. Funny how time shrinks when I visit them. What are you writing theses days?

I know alphas are all the rage these days, but I think funny guys deserve love too. I just love them. :D And you?

SO happy for you, Jane!! Hugs!
I laughed so hard today my sides hurt. My mother received a racy message from her brother in law on Whatsapp, but she thought it was just some sort of message telling you something about your astrological sign, so she forwarded it to all her friends lolol. Turns out, aha, it tells you what favorite sexual position is. With pictures and everything. She spend all day apologizing to her church friends lmao. AND blocked her brother in law. Ugh on the bookfront - still nada. :(
Alexis wrote: "She spend all day apologizing to her church friends lmao."LOL! That's the basis for a novel right there!

As for me, I'm working with a film producer on a screen adaptation of my first novel about a boy healer in the 1900s. I want to get to the sequel soon, too. Always so much to do, and so little time.
Clint wrote: "Alexis wrote: "She spend all day apologizing to her church friends lmao."LOL! That's the basis for a novel right there!"
I laugh everytime that I think about it, lol!
A screen adaptation Robin!? That is very cool. I hope it all works out wonderfully..

I agree! That's too funny!! Hugs
My Goodreads giveaway got approved! In the new year I'll be giving away a few paperback copies of my book. I'm excited to see how it goes.

Thanks!
Congrats, Aislinn! Today I got fanart. Yay! And I gave out cookies at work, and everybody liked them, and the diabetics really appreciated the fact that I brought nuts and cheese for them. Usually the diabetics get ignored when people bring treats for the team.

Well, I could give you a virtual one, but I'm not sure how well that would work.

That'd be torture. I do have an order of belgian fries and chicken wings coming soon.. :)
I just had my second Netgalley reviewer who said they bought a paperback copy of my book after reading the review copy. That makes me feel feelings.
