L | 11 comments The book starts off with a girl going to apply to an art academy. She's rushing and gets hit by a bus (this happens at the very beginning of the book). She sees the face of a boy (who we later find out is a guardian angel of sorts). When she wakes up, she's standing in an elevator with a chimpanzee who gets offended when you call him by the wrong species. Fast forward to past the lines at the entrance of the afterlife she meets a guy who shows her around the same guy she saw before she died. He explains to her that in the afterlife some people are chosen to train and protect humans from dying. There is a prophet dude with a crystal ball, cherubs rolling around, and a tent/room filled with weapons (scene wise). There is also a large swimming pool where once you've gotten a mission you jump through and get a skin suit which lets you walk on earth for a limited time. (Spoilers --->) Later on in the story we find out the girl has the mark of the enemy on her making her a traitor theres all that going on. More drama. Then they go fight some demon monsters and at the end of the book she gains her life back and the first chapter restarts except this time, the guy pulls her out before she got hit by the bus
