Best device to listen to Audio Book

My wife likes listening to books while she's gardening but is frustrated with have to download books to iTunes then transfer them over to her nano. Looking for a device where I could utilize Audible app and download books over wifi from my library. The key is keeping the device small/ Any suggestions?
