ABANDONED. Book about a guy who has amnesia and has a ford flex part of a series

This was a book, part of a series, about a guy who ends up in a hospital with amnesia and some other injuries. He gets involved with the female doctor, who has an adopted teenage son. They live in a smaller town maybe east coast area? The son has just learned how to drive and loves the guys ford flex funkmaster flex edition car. The guy ends up to be a hitman on the run from some bad guys. The story follows them through a few books to their happily ever after. Its a great mystery romance with lots of great dialog. I read it several years ago and can't remember the author or title. Any help would be greatly appreciated!
