Charlene (charlenethestickler) | 798 comments I finally got this book from the library just recently. I read the book yesterday and last night, and I was fooled by thinking that I was to be rooting for Maya to solve the mystery.

It looks as if the mystery she solved was completely different from the one the narrator set up for us. I was so off balance with the revelation of who shot Joe that I did an about face and liked the book less for feeling I'd been had.

It was the first Harlan Coben book I've read, so maybe I entered the story a bit naively.
