Since December is the last month of the year, let's go out with a bang. Our theme is Explosive Action. You can pick any book you want that has action/adventure elements and meets the other requirements. Pick a book that has high octane action and is chock full of edge of your seat moments.

Here are some other considerations:

1. One nomination per group member. The books must be nominated with a Goodreads link by clicking on 'add book/author'. If a book does not have a Goodreads link, it will not be added to the poll.
2. Books need to be readily available, ie, in print (able to buy new or in ebook format).
3. Books should have some degree of action/adventure content.
4. Past group reads are not eligible to be nominated again. The past group discussions remain open for members to comment. You may see the list of past reads here:

https://www.goodreads.com/topic/show/...

5. Books must be either standalone or first in a series (or they may be later in a series if constructed to be read as a standalone).

Please feel free to include a blurb for the book so others know a little about the book, along with your Goodreads book link.

The poll will go up on or around November 5th.

Also, I created a poll to determine if people want to go back to voting on our monthly group read themes:

Steve Patrick Wilson Defender by Chris Allen ( a Goodreads author) plenty of gunslinging and chases with a good plot to bring it together. Each book in the series gets better.

You need to put in the GR book link (read rule 1) or it's not a real nomination. If you don't know how, ask & make sure to mention the platform/device you're using.

In a browser, you just click on the 'add book/author' link above the comment box. Enter "defender, allen" (without the " marks) & click 'search'. Your book should come up & you can click on the 'add' button on the right. It will insert the book link into your comment.

I will nominate Power Down Power Down (Dewey Andreas, #1) by Ben Coes

"A major North American hydroelectric dam is blown up and the largest off-shore oil field in this hemisphere is destroyed in a brutal, coordinated terrorist attack. But there was one factor that the terrorists didn't take into account when they struck the Capitana platform off the coast of Colombia--slaughtering much of the crew and blowing up the platform--and that was the Capitana crew chief Dewey Andreas. Dewey, former Army Ranger and Delta, survives the attack, rescuing as many of his men as possible. But the battle has just begun."

Jim (jimmaclachlan) I'll nominate Rogue by Mark T. Sullivan. It's the first of a series. I liked the first couple of books a lot. Very action-packed.

BLESK | 5 comments City of War (Rail Black Novels, #1) by Neil Russell

I'd like to nominate City of War by Neil Russell. It's the first novel in the Rail Black series.

"His enemies are the most dangerous people in the world…

So are his friends.

The sole heir to a media empire, Rail Black is larger than life, richer than almost anyone and living in opulent seclusion in Beverly Hills. His "curse" is a need for excitement coupled with an oversized sense of justice, which impelled him into Delta Force. Now he helps people without options—and billionaires play by different rules.

Caught in gridlock on the world's busiest freeway, Rail comes to the rescue of a naked woman escaping from a van. But Kimberly York is no ordinary victim, and Rail has invited violence into his life . . . again—as a sudden, shocking murder pulls him into a decades-old international conspiracy of greed, rare treasures, and human depravity.

But no matter how powerful and well-armed, his adversaries can't escape Rail's wrath as he races into the darkness surrounding the American government's most astonishing secret: the City of War."

KEVIN | 9 comments Explosive action ? Here is my nomination Brannan’s Chase . Action that twists and turns all the way and a cliff hanger ending. Ticks all the boxes.

This won't make it on the poll this month because it doesn't have a goodreads link. I did give you a chance to correct it. Maybe next time.
