SOLVED. Picture book scary man eats monsters tail. [s]

This is a children's picture book. Very old. I'd say 90s or 80s. A man goes hunting in the firest and eats the tail of a strange creature but the creature gets away.
Later that night the monster slowly comes back for it's tail. It is very foreboding. It says who has eaten my tail oo or something. Very scary.
