This novel contains, in chapter 37 & 38, an excellent dramatization, complete with maps and modern photos, of Barksdale's charge, which some consider the real high water mark of the Confederacy. I stumbled on this site when I was looking for a map of Longstreet's Countermarch, and stayed to read chapters 37 and 38.
