As a young girl, Mecca witnesses the rape and murder of her institutionalized mother. Her young mind, not able to cope, buried the memory so deep she can’t remember what happened. Then Mecca and her twin sister, Bella, lose their father to his terrible grief and depression. The two girls find themselves living in a group home. Mecca is soon diagnosed with the same multi-personality disease as her mother. Admitted to a mental institution, Mecca finds herself treated by Dr. Marz … the same psychiatrist who treated her mother.

When Bella is adopted by a loving family, Mecca finds herself dealing with her pain alone. As time goes on her blackouts worsen. She shifts from personality to personality. Horrible flashes of her mother’s rape and murder begin to coalesce in her mind. Mecca seeks the help of her sister Bella and Dr. Marz. But then, are they who they appear to be? In Mecca’s world, it is hard to know.

Are Mecca’s many personalities all in her mind? Or are they a means to hide her psychological scars. Is Bella real or another of her many personalities? What happened the day her mother died?

A last psychological twist awaiting discovery.

Hi Belinda,

Are you still looking for books to review? I have a crime thriller that you may be interested in:

Emily thought her ordeal was over after she escaped a brutal kidnapping. She's wrong. He's coming for her again.

The body Detective Rose is looking at bears a striking resemblance to Emily, a woman who survived a horrific, sexually motivated abduction five years ago. Her fear is confirmed when Emily goes missing again.

When another woman, Grace, is abducted, Detective Rose finds herself doubting the instincts that tell her the disappearance is the result of domestic violence. She connects the cases and recruits Grace's partner, Ethan, to help in the search. Together they must find Grace and Emily before it's too late.

Let me know if you'd like to read it and I can send copy to your Kindle or email you another format :)

Ali (ali909) Hi Everyone,
I'm new to this group and looking forward to become a regular.
I love crime novels, psychological thrillers, detective stories. Not mad on sci fi and horrors though.
For me, thrillers and crimes novels are not just about a well twisted plot, but how it's build up, the suspense, the characters, the descriptions...
I'll be happy to provide an honest review for new and upcoming books, given they fit the genres.
I am for ever in love with hard copies (there is nothing nicer than holding a real book in your hands), hence hard copies are always preferred, but I also have Kindle App, so at a push eBook qualifies for the purpose :)
Thanks!

Blurb: The Long Road Home by Carolyn M. Bowen

This novel is a page turning mystery about love, lust, murder, money, and revenge.

Kate’s life was in turmoil after the death of her parents. She’d always been protected and sheltered by them. Suddenly she finds herself with a conniving fiancé living under her roof, a powerful businessman with terrorist ties from across the ocean trying to kill her and more family secrets than most American politicians. She was also unaware that a half-brother she knew nothing of was about to enter her life. Her situation was getting precarious right at the moment she was least able to cope with it.

Greg Ryan | 5 comments Portrait of Death - Free Giveaway in exchange for your honest review.

A female serial killer is so obsessed with art that she finds her ultimate purpose in the desire to paint portraits of her victims in the midst of their death. That's the challenge facing brilliant but flawed detective Nathan Pearson who finds the case hits remarkably too close to home.

Former Chicago detective Nathan Pearson just wants to move on with his life and leave the police life behind him. But with serial killer Mona Pruitt, also his ex-girlfriend, being locked up in a mental hospital for painting a portrait of a dead male at the center of Millennium Park, is going to force him back into the life he swore he left behind. When FBI agent Melissa Thornton shows up at his home to recruit him, he’s going to have to fight his distaste for law enforcement and saving lives.

Soon Nathan finds himself on someone’s hit list. But he’s not the only target. Mona is too, and Nathan quickly learns nothing is as it seems. One thing is clear: Nathan has to visit Mona, she is still obsessed with him, and she may be the only one who truly knows what is going on. Now, as the death toll starts to rise and time running out, somebody close to Nathan or Mona is on the line, Nathan knows his only chance is to keep visiting Mona. But Mona will prove how horrifying and unpredictable she can be while locked up.

All of this leads to a twisted and shocking turn of events that will make Mona Pruitt the next deadly famous artist.

Hallan C Corllids | 1 comments **FREE COPIES** Quentin Black 'Project Unknown' mystery/thriller novel

Hi everyone, it would be greatly appreciated if you would read my mystery/thriller novel. I am seeking reviews so that I can receive feedback and improve the story accordingly. Currently there are 80 free copies available on Inkitt. Below is a short synopsis.

Synopsis: Something has been hidden for a decade, long forgotten and abandoned by the people who brought it into the twenty first century. In New York City, the buried secrets of Project Chronos are about to be unleashed, and for Quentin Black, his life is about to flipped on it's edge and everyone in it as well. Quentin works for MI6 in London, transferred to New York with Julia Ellis-Lloyd and Colin Schipero to work with the New York Police Department. Six months turned into two years, and Quentin wonders whether he will ever return home. But his biggest problem is just about to begin. When a mysterious woman approaches him with a dilemma involving an international conspiracy, an illegal experiment, a hazardous weapon, five million dollars, and a criminal known as the 'Sabbath', Quentin struggles with his morals and reputation as a psychological cat and mouse chase begins, a chase which will lead to his downfall.

Hopefully you will support my project (pun intended) and please leave a review as well so that I can improve it. Leaving the review on Inkitt is preferred but a review on this thread is also ok. Thank you!! (link below)

Stephanie (laundry_piles) This seems to be an old thread but I'll bite, I'm always happy to read and review. I currently review ARC's from First Reads and NetGalley.

I will read horror, thrillers, psychological thrillers, dark suspense, etc. There are a few genres I won't touch such as romance, for example, but given the subject of this group, I doubt there's to much of that here.

I find it difficult to keep up with group notifications since I follow many groups so if you have a book you'd like to send my way then please send me a private message to ensure I'll actually see it.

Happy Reading (and writing)!

Hello, Benjamin. This is Sharon Gupta writing from India. So glad you've begun to read thrillers. My Elizabethan thriller The Shakespeare Murders has just been released. I'd love to have you read it and post an honest review.
Here's a brief synopsis:
It’s 1602 and William Shakespeare is at the height of his popularity. South of the River Thames in the borough of Southwark, the Globe playhouse dominates the skyline. The Chamberlain’s Men, led by Richard Burbage, functions there. Shakespeare is their in-house playwright. Burbage’s acting prowess combined with Shakespeare’s literary talent make the Globe the most successful theatre of its time. Other playhouses fall into ruin. Suddenly, in early August, someone begins targeting the players one by one. As the body count piles up and witnesses vanish, The Lord Chamberlain requisitions the services of Geoffrey Drake, a knight with proven detective skills, to unravel the mystery. Drake goes undercover as Shakespeare’s distant cousin Geoffrey Dupont and quickly draws up a list of suspects that includes among others Shakespeare’s younger brother Edmund, who resents the Bard for denying him a career on stage; players present at the scenes of the murders; and Shakespeare’s erstwhile mentor Phil Henslowe of The Admiral’s Men. Besides this, Drake must also unmask the man behind the attempt on Shakespeare’s life at the Lord Chamberlain’s ball. Could it be the Bard’s mistress Marie Blackburn’s husband? Had the same contract killer been knocking off the Chamberlain’s Men? Or is the murderer one of the players?
Will Sir Geoffrey Drake succeed in saving the greatest literary genius of the London Stage?

If you're interested, please email me at: sharonshefali@gmail.com and I'll send you a paperback of the book. Yes, all the way from India! You might also enjoy The Shakespeare Murders Facebook Page, which has promo videos and lots more about the book. Looking forward to hearing from you. Ciao, Sharon
