I feel ya sista I like in rural South Australia, ain't many people in my town I can talk books with (that read outside the limits of Patricia Cornwall anyway) lmao

Welcome Emily! Have fun with the challenge! I've found that the group has widened my book choices and I've found some real gems that I wouldn't have picked up otherwise.

(I read mostly in French, but I force myself to read in English, hope this doesn't bother for the challenges )

Welcome Romane!
You are amazing if you can read in English too at age 16, but you can also read in French for the challenges :)

This group is a great challenge, even though very few of us actually complete the whole thing.

Just recently I started to discover my love for books again.
Not only have I set myself the goal to read at least 50 books this year, I also have the ambition to participate in groups like this in order to gain a feeling of a somewhat companionship or at least community when it comes to reading because sadly, none of my friends or family members are really invested in the passion of reading.
I'm looking forward to the challenges here!
Tho I have to admit, I didn't quite understand fully the process…guess I have to read the guideline a few more times :D

I'm Pinar from Ankara, Turkey. I joined this challenge just today. My fav genres are literary fiction and magical realism. I read most of my books in Turkish, sometimes in English, very occasionally in Italian.
My fav book of all time is "Noone Writes to the Colonel" by Gabriel Garcia Marquez.
A random bookish fact about me: I read Noone Writes to the Colonel every year when it first rains in the month of October. I carry this book with me all the time in October. I was on a work trip in NY last October when I first came across rain and read my book in my hotel room in NY. I travel a lot for work and pleasure. I wonder where I'll be this October :)
Greetings to everyone :)

Have a good day yall :)

welcome! Don't be nervous, just have fun. This is a great group!

Bienvenue, I speak and read French but not a native speaker. I am always impressed by our international members whose English is perfect.

Whoaa, being able to speak and read French as a non-native is much more impressive than knowing English, French grammar is so much more complicated!!!!
But yeah, I have to thank books and fandoms for making me want to learn English and wanting to be as close as possible to the original text of books

Thanks! Looks like it!

Late last December I got a Readerboard name. That was also around the time I started a new job, had a major mechanical issues with my car, and got sick with some non-COVID viral crud.
At that point, starting the SRC late seemed way to complicated and overwhelming, so I decided to play the next season. Except, given that I'd decided to try out a wide range of challenges in 2023, as each new season rolled around I seemed to be deeply mired in multiple other challenges already.
This time, though, I am prepared. I have a bunch of challenges ending, and the ones I have left are not particularly demanding. I've reviewed the rules (and even made notes) and have set up a spreadsheet to track everything. I haven't picked out any books yet, though - I'm not one to plan my reading very far ahead, which I know may not be in my favor for SRC.
I think this is going to be fun!

I joined Goodreads in October and realized ..."
Welcome KT! I know you from the Audiobooks group as well as PBT. I joined this group partly because there would be no pressure, as there was no way I would ever finish it. But after a couple years, I now find I am about to finish my 4th one in a row. However, I don't think I've yet managed to do a whole season without any errors, that's my next goal.

That's a lot of books. I could never delete my account but I do need to clean it out for sure.
Welcome to the group!

Welcome to the group!

my name is Šárka and I am from the middle of Europe. I am 27 years old and I am still fighting with the English language. It isn't common in our country to talk or write in this language so it's a challenge itself.
I loved reading a book as a child and as I was growing, I stopped for some time thanks to hard times. It isn't so long from my past, when I chose some other path, when I am coming back to my old hobby.
Now my most favourite hobby is watching Asia's movie's works. I love Korean and Chinese dramas and thrillers. But because I can't stay all life behind the screen I choose to go back to reading and drawing and other things too.
I hope that this community will help me to grow more fond of my old hobby and support me in my slow and fun way. I am looking forward to reading next to you all.
With my best regards
Šárka Vomáčková

Welcome Šárka!
I'm glad to have another European in the group - I'm from Sweden! I've found that a lot of people in their 20s have found their way back to reading this past year, maybe because of the growth of BookTok and BookTube. I'm hoping you'll find this challenge motivating and that it might also expand your horizons and allow you to try something new. Best of luck!

i started getting back into reading in my first year of high school, yet i never really started recording all my books until this past year. im really into bullet journaling so although i do like review and stuff mainly on paper.
i also started my good reads challenge this past year, and i liked doing reading challenges in other groups too! i decided i could also focus a bit more on it too!
i cant wait to get to know this group!

I am Sydney, a 20 year old university study studying 2 additional languages from my mother tongue and linguistics. I was born and raised in mtl canada and speak 4 languages. I’m hoping to work in sociophonetics (that’s the dream). I live with my lovely long time boyfriend who reminds me of all of the hot book boyfriends because he stills treats me like a princess after 6 years of being together. My favourite past time is lighting up a joint and reading a good book. I would love to read and hear about all the books you all are interested in!

Hello and welcome!
The 20 points tasks usually get posted a little later than others, as the task creators can only be decided once the previous challenge has ended. That said, task 20.10 (Group Reads) is now available. Each season there's a choice of four books (they'll appear on the group home page), you only need to read one of them and contribute to the discussion thread to claim the points. That said, there's nothing to stop you reading the other three anyway!

I only like to read non-fiction, across many subjects. I just have a passion for learning new things & becoming a better human than my past self.
It turns out I'm a bit of a reading challenge junkie....mmm dopamine...

A man after my own heart right there. Reading challenges and their tasty, tasty dopamine.
Denise wrote: "Working my way through the rules etc, but as far as I can tell just pick the prompts I want to do, post what I read according to the rules, and if I want to I can earn points."
That's pretty much it. Read books, earn points or tickets (for big books etc.) and maybe be in with a chance of getting to create a task for the next season :)

Welcome, Dominique! That's what I enjoy about this one; I love matching my extensive TBR list to the tasks, but I also find some others to add!

Bonjour, glad to be here!

Every time I tell myself not to add more books, end up adding 10 more!
