INTRODUCTIONS
Hi all, My name is Mel (from The Netherlands), and I have been a member of this group for a long time. I've seen many challenges come and go but never had the courage to "officially" join. With the current situation forcing me to stay at home a lot more than I'm being used to, I started the NEWTs challenge this August, which gave me the nudge I needed to want to start the Fall challenge in September :) Looking forward to join this community!
Hi, I'm Margie and am rejoining after a hiatus. I love reading challenges and look forward to participating.I live in Arizona with my husband of 38 years. Our daughter lives in Utah and our son in California. We have 3 grandchildren and 1 granddog.
I love reading any genre although I don't read a lot of science fiction. I work part-time so that gives me more time to devote to reading, scrapbooking, and sewing.
I'm Teri-K, and I, too, am rejoining after some time away. When I played before I was a new widow with kids grown and married. Now I've relocated to be with my (divorced) son and three young grandkids, now ages 5-12. I've been watching them since schools here in VA shut down in March, and they're still doing everything online. Fortunately I was an elementary teacher, so I enjoy helping them with school. Though all those Zoom meetings are pretty boring, I'm afraid, especially for the kindergartner.I've been an avid reader all my life, and I enjoy just about anything except horror. After DH died I started listening to audiobooks and they've added a lot of enjoyment to my long walks and knit/crochet projects.
I was so glad to see this group is still here, because I need something new to do to get through this winter! I'm looking forward to seeing how many tasks I can complete and getting ideas from all of you.
Hi everyone. I’m Mindy M and while I’ve been on goodreads for a bit, I’m new to this group. I love book challenges and from the looks of it, it doesn’t get much better than right here. I read just about everything, though if I had to pick a favorite genre, I’d say it’s women’s fiction. I’m really looking forward to seeing how this goes.

Hi! I'm Gita from Indonesia. I've been looking for some reading challenges and this one looks so fun. Read through the winter challenge tasks and I think I got some completed already. Can't wait to get on that readerboard!
I am Robin from Madison, WI. Between being retired a couple years ago and all the trips and events canceled last year, I have gotten very active on Goodreads. I found this group through my GR friend Book Concierge, who I am going to meet for the first time in person in a couple weeks!I read a lot of genres - historical fiction, mysteries, romance, classics, sci-fi, fantasy, nonfiction on history, women's issues, social issues. I love audiobooks as well as print, and I started reading more ebooks last year when libraries and bookstores were closed. I have given away two or three hundred books since retiring and still probably own more than I will ever read - and new ones keep coming out!
Part of me thinks I must be nuts to join another challenge group, since I am in multiple groups already, several of which have challenges. And I already wonder how many more books I would read if I didn't spend so much time reading threads on GR and tracking/posting my progress! I can see it will take me some time just to go through all the possible options now to see what books I've read since March will fit.
Hi, Robin! Great to see you here! (I'm sitting this season out, but I'll be back in Summer...) Looking forward to meeting in person in just under 2 weeks....
Hi, I am Danique, 23 years old and from the Netherlands! I used to read a lot during the holidays, but stop immediately when school started again. A year ago I started reading every day and I never stopped :) I am still discovering what I like to read, but right now I am interested in all genres. I love to check off a challenge when I finish a book and that's why I joined this group!
Hey there! My name is Kaylin and I'm from Pennsylvania in the US. I'm a lifelong reader who read voraciously as a kid and teenager but kinda lost touch with my love for it through college and early adulthood. Friends of mine got me back into reading a few years ago and introduced me to Goodreads which has become my new favorite type of social media. I happened across this group totally by accident when I saw there was a challenges page on Goodreads and I'm excited to jump in on the summer challenge since I don't really have a ton that fits the tasks from Spring :)
I love a really wide variety of books but have a particular soft spot for historical fiction and memoirs. I also throw in some YA and middle grade pretty often as I enjoy the accomplishment of a quick read sometimes. Excited to be part of this group!
Hi :) I'm Insiyah. I live in Dubai, and I'm a huge reader. I think I started out because I used to see my mom reading books, and then I became a complete book addict to the point where I was proud of being called a bookworm (still true, but I generally prefer nerd now).
I realised that I'm good with challenges, competitiveness and rewards when I did UNO 2021 over on The Perks of Being a Book Addict. I wanted something less team dependent but still community based, so when I came across this one, it seemed to fit all my needs.
I've been into most genres, though I actively avoid cliches. I'm also reading more and more classics now, so basically, I'm making myself a Literature student. I love a good mystery or courtroom drama, and am slowly beginning to like poetry more and more. Historical fiction just suckers me in, and I refuse to read any Youtuber biographies simply because I can barely sit through one of their videos, let alone whatever else they try to release. I'm slowly also making my way through children's stories like Mary Poppins and Winnie the Pooh, but those are just adorable and no one can blame me.
Okay, I'm gonna go before I make this an entire essay. Looking forward to June!
Hi everyone! My name is Gunit & I am a book nerd from India. I started reading because I knew of some of cousins who were avid readers and I always thought they were really smart. Eventually I fell in love with books. Till date, I believe that readers are the smartest people! :)
I found this group through a GR friend when she posted on one of the challenge threads. After exploring the group a bit, I found it interesting & decided to give it a shot.
I read pretty much everything, always trying new genres, but mythology & humor don't work that well for me. My favorite genres are mystery & thrillers, fiction & historical fiction. I also like sci-fi books every now & then.
I hope to meet fellow bookworms here & keep reading more & more!
Good Evening everyone. I am 40 years old, enjoy reading in my spare time and work as a nurse in Scotland.Love genres of books. Struggle with sci fi for some reason but always give it a go. I am currently in two other groups a Mystery and suspense UK group and the other 80 books around the world. Currently my Want to read list is sitting at 60 but thats cos I have some self control (ha ha). Love being lost in a world of make believe.
Looks like I enter this challenge just as one begins so maybe by time I have read all the posts I will have some idea or what I am doing.
Enjoy your reading guys and gals.
Hello (: my name is Dandee, I'm 23 years old and from the US. Although I'm open to reading almost anything, my favorite genres are thrillers/murder mysteries. I just got into my masters program (MFT/Counseling) and will be starting in the fall but I'm still looking forward to participating in this challenge and connecting with you all!

(: Just wanted to say that I'm the same in that I tend to stop reading as much when school starts and was wondering if there was a way to get back into reading for fun after school is over? I tend to get in a reading slump for a while after the school year ends, and since I am returning to school later this year I feel like that will happen again ): any tips on how to avoid a reading slump from happening?
Hi everyone! I was suggested this group by a mod in another group that I am in after I finished the challenge in that group and was looking for something else to fill the vacuum :) I am 44 and live in Salt Lake City Utah. I teach kindergarten and have one adult daughter who lives at home. My husband is an urban farmer and we love rocks. Ever since I discovered bluetooth headphones I primarily do audiobooks because I can have them with me all the time!
I look forward to getting to know you and talk books!

Hi! I'm new here and have been looking for a book club to join for a few days. I was intrigued by online groups as I live way out in the country (it's a 30 minute drive one-way just to the grocery store), and driving to town to discuss books just isn't really feasible. I am 37 and expecting my first miracle baby in April! Typically I read thriller/horror, but would love to expand my horizons and read some new things. I am excited to be a part of the group!

HeyMy name is Mishy. I am 29 years old. I am from Iowa and have a son who is 3.5 and currently engaged.
I love reading and never used to put it on my self-care list. But it is now something I do almost every single day as self-care. Something I can do just for me and completely zone out and not do mom things.
I read mostly mystery or thriller. But I love reading new books that I never thought I would like and find out I really love them!!!
I look forward to having fun in this group and reading some new books!
Hello everyone! My name is Patricia and I’m currently studying English in university. I’ve loved reading ever since I was a little girl and that definitely is the reason behind why I'm studying English right now! It’s so nice to meet all of you! I’m new in Goodreads so please take care of me!
If any of you want to be friends just add me!! Can’t wait to hear from all of you!
Hello
I'm Lucy from the UK & I'm new to this (If anyone would like to adopt a newbie & help me through it, I'd *really* appreciate that!)
I love a challenge, but I'm not 100% sure I am in the correct place as if I'm reading the tasks correctly, to do everything you need to read around 75 books in 3 months, which is not feasible, but is there space here for a 100-book-a-year type reader?

Hi Lucy! Welcome to what is personally my favorite group on Goodreads. All are welcome; you're in the right place!
I've been doing this challenge casually for around 4.5 years (I just looked it up and am shocked by that), and from what I have seen, most people don't finish the challenge. There is no minimum level of participation required. As an example, I personally have never read more than 48 books in one year.
One of the great things about this challenge is it guides people to books they would have never picked up otherwise and can help them work on those never-ending to-be-read lists.

Read as little or as much as you want.
You can "win" a chance to set a task by reading all the 5 and 10 point tasks - I think this is a really doable aim. Choose books nearer to the 100 or 200 page mark to get through these
Hello! My name is Vannessa. I have been trying to minimize my screen time by adding in a new (old) hobby. I honestly haven’t read a book in almost a year - which is a big bummer. I figure that a challenge could be a fun way to kickstart this hobby. My reading goal for 2022 is pretty low, but maybe this group can help me surpass my own expectations. We shall see…

Hi Vanessa! Welcome :)
I started this challenge last year, and so far it has been so addictive and fun.. I hope it will be that way for you too :)
Enjoy reading!
Hi, I'm Rachel. I'm 22 and doing my Masters' at the moment. I've been in the longest reading slump and I'm hoping this challenge will help me get out of it. Annndd I really hope I've got the rules right because I'm super excited so I don't want to mess up. :p
hi! my name is ezra :-) i'm trying to become as big of a reader as i was when i was a kid so i'm looking for some inspiration and i'm hoping to read something different
Hi I'm Rosina...I am hoping to meet my goal for this year of 100+ books....I am a challenge junkie and this one looks like something I will enjoy...looking forward to finding new authors....
Hi!I’m Zyron and was browsing the groups when I came across this one. I love to read and have been looking for a good reading challenge. I can’t wait to get involved and start reading!
HI everyone! I'm Amber. I've always enjoyed reading but for the last few years, I've been reading more books than ever. I love challenges that get me to read things that I might not normally pick up.
Hello!! My name is Zaniyah and I’m 35 yrs old. I love to read and write. I also believe reading is one way to expand your knowledge.
Hi! I'm Michelle/McKat. I love reading, playing with my zoo, learning new crafts, eating dessert, boardgaming with my husband, watching TV/movies, keeping myself way too busy (especially if you ask my husband), and sleeping. My 1st bookclub was a few years ago with my mom, sister, & sister-in-law, & now I'm in several :)
This is my 1st challenge bookclub- looking forward to seeing how it all works out!
Aloha from Hawaii! My name is Lauri and I am a serial books starter! I love to start a whole bunch of books (especially on Saturdays!) and then see what catches my mood. I read tons of books simultaneously. Character flaw? Idiosyncracy? I just can't decide... My favorite genres are historical fiction, mystery, chick lit, humor, BUT I will read just about anything! Looking forward to the Summer Challenge here!
Hi everyone! I'm Francesca, I come from northern Italy and love to read and cuddle my beloved cats. Favourite genres? I'm quite peculiar as I love horror books (the really spooky ones) and children/middle grade reads! Fantasy is also one of my big passions.I'm also interested in folklore/witchcraft, especially when connected to nature - oh, to live in a cottage surrounded by trees and fields! While I dream this scenario from my city apartment I enjoy exploring new places thanks to a good book and a cup of tea :)
So happy to meet y'all!
Is there a way to do the Seasonal Reading Challenge on Storygraph? I absolutely HATE the new Goodreads format and have been using both GR and SG but I think I am being pushed over the edge at this point. It is unusable.
Hi! I'm from California and I love reading and crocheting. I haven't been reading much the past few years and I'm trying to read more now. This group is going to really help me expand my reading. I just joined last night but I'm already building quite an eclectic reading list. Ive even discovered a couple books I might not have found if not for this group. Happy reading everyone!
Hi! I am Kira from India and I love reading and participating in various challenges. I read a lot and mostly all genres but my favourites currently are historical and paranormal romance and YA fantasy. I had a look at the seasonal challenge and it seems really exciting!
Hi! I am Tanvi. I am from India. An avid reader wishing to broaden my horizon and read a variety of books. Being a full-time doctor I rarely get enough time but I plan to invest whatever I get into reading than reel-scrolling!!!
