I really enjoy reading, I've only recently joined GR but have been a long time lurker without an account. I really love the idea of a seasonal challenge and I'm excited to join this group.
Thanks,
Charlotte

I live in Arizona with my husband of 38 years. Our daughter lives in Utah and our son in California. We have 3 grandchildren and 1 granddog.
I love reading any genre although I don't read a lot of science fiction. I work part-time so that gives me more time to devote to reading, scrapbooking, and sewing.

I've been an avid reader all my life, and I enjoy just about anything except horror. After DH died I started listening to audiobooks and they've added a lot of enjoyment to my long walks and knit/crochet projects.
I was so glad to see this group is still here, because I need something new to do to get through this winter! I'm looking forward to seeing how many tasks I can complete and getting ideas from all of you.

Hi Mindy I love this challenge

I read a lot of genres - historical fiction, mysteries, romance, classics, sci-fi, fantasy, nonfiction on history, women's issues, social issues. I love audiobooks as well as print, and I started reading more ebooks last year when libraries and bookstores were closed. I have given away two or three hundred books since retiring and still probably own more than I will ever read - and new ones keep coming out!
Part of me thinks I must be nuts to join another challenge group, since I am in multiple groups already, several of which have challenges. And I already wonder how many more books I would read if I didn't spend so much time reading threads on GR and tracking/posting my progress! I can see it will take me some time just to go through all the possible options now to see what books I've read since March will fit.

I happened across this group totally by accident when I saw there was a challenges page on Goodreads and I'm excited to jump in on the summer challenge since I don't really have a ton that fits the tasks from Spring :)
I love a really wide variety of books but have a particular soft spot for historical fiction and memoirs. I also throw in some YA and middle grade pretty often as I enjoy the accomplishment of a quick read sometimes. Excited to be part of this group!

I'm Insiyah. I live in Dubai, and I'm a huge reader. I think I started out because I used to see my mom reading books, and then I became a complete book addict to the point where I was proud of being called a bookworm (still true, but I generally prefer nerd now).
I realised that I'm good with challenges, competitiveness and rewards when I did UNO 2021 over on The Perks of Being a Book Addict. I wanted something less team dependent but still community based, so when I came across this one, it seemed to fit all my needs.
I've been into most genres, though I actively avoid cliches. I'm also reading more and more classics now, so basically, I'm making myself a Literature student. I love a good mystery or courtroom drama, and am slowly beginning to like poetry more and more. Historical fiction just suckers me in, and I refuse to read any Youtuber biographies simply because I can barely sit through one of their videos, let alone whatever else they try to release. I'm slowly also making my way through children's stories like Mary Poppins and Winnie the Pooh, but those are just adorable and no one can blame me.
Okay, I'm gonna go before I make this an entire essay. Looking forward to June!

My name is Gunit & I am a book nerd from India. I started reading because I knew of some of cousins who were avid readers and I always thought they were really smart. Eventually I fell in love with books. Till date, I believe that readers are the smartest people! :)
I found this group through a GR friend when she posted on one of the challenge threads. After exploring the group a bit, I found it interesting & decided to give it a shot.
I read pretty much everything, always trying new genres, but mythology & humor don't work that well for me. My favorite genres are mystery & thrillers, fiction & historical fiction. I also like sci-fi books every now & then.
I hope to meet fellow bookworms here & keep reading more & more!

Love genres of books. Struggle with sci fi for some reason but always give it a go. I am currently in two other groups a Mystery and suspense UK group and the other 80 books around the world. Currently my Want to read list is sitting at 60 but thats cos I have some self control (ha ha). Love being lost in a world of make believe.
Looks like I enter this challenge just as one begins so maybe by time I have read all the posts I will have some idea or what I am doing.
Enjoy your reading guys and gals.

Hello age twin! (: Just wanted to say that I'm the same in that I tend to stop reading as much when school starts and was wondering if there was a way to get back into reading for fun after school is over? I tend to get in a reading slump for a while after the school year ends, and since I am returning to school later this year I feel like that will happen again ): any tips on how to avoid a reading slump from happening?

I am 44 and live in Salt Lake City Utah. I teach kindergarten and have one adult daughter who lives at home. My husband is an urban farmer and we love rocks. Ever since I discovered bluetooth headphones I primarily do audiobooks because I can have them with me all the time!
I look forward to getting to know you and talk books!

Katrisa it is good to see you here you will love this challenge

I think just have something that you can dip in and out of, maybe a book you love or a series you have enjoyed . Books don't have to be classical literature or deep and meaningful. Also having an audio book can help

Hi Marie! It's good to see a familiar name :) I think this is just what I needed for my summer!

I have a bookclub you are welcome to join, I can pm u if you'd like

My name is Mishy. I am 29 years old. I am from Iowa and have a son who is 3.5 and currently engaged.
I love reading and never used to put it on my self-care list. But it is now something I do almost every single day as self-care. Something I can do just for me and completely zone out and not do mom things.
I read mostly mystery or thriller. But I love reading new books that I never thought I would like and find out I really love them!!!
I look forward to having fun in this group and reading some new books!

It’s so nice to meet all of you! I’m new in Goodreads so please take care of me!
If any of you want to be friends just add me!! Can’t wait to hear from all of you!
Hello
I'm Lucy from the UK & I'm new to this (If anyone would like to adopt a newbie & help me through it, I'd *really* appreciate that!)
I love a challenge, but I'm not 100% sure I am in the correct place as if I'm reading the tasks correctly, to do everything you need to read around 75 books in 3 months, which is not feasible, but is there space here for a 100-book-a-year type reader?

Hi Lucy! Welcome to what is personally my favorite group on Goodreads. All are welcome; you're in the right place!
I've been doing this challenge casually for around 4.5 years (I just looked it up and am shocked by that), and from what I have seen, most people don't finish the challenge. There is no minimum level of participation required. As an example, I personally have never read more than 48 books in one year.
One of the great things about this challenge is it guides people to books they would have never picked up otherwise and can help them work on those never-ending to-be-read lists.

Read as little or as much as you want.
You can "win" a chance to set a task by reading all the 5 and 10 point tasks - I think this is a really doable aim. Choose books nearer to the 100 or 200 page mark to get through these

I have been trying to minimize my screen time by adding in a new (old) hobby. I honestly haven’t read a book in almost a year - which is a big bummer. I figure that a challenge could be a fun way to kickstart this hobby. My reading goal for 2022 is pretty low, but maybe this group can help me surpass my own expectations. We shall see…

Hi Vanessa! Welcome :)
I started this challenge last year, and so far it has been so addictive and fun.. I hope it will be that way for you too :)
Enjoy reading!
Hi, I'm Rachel. I'm 22 and doing my Masters' at the moment. I've been in the longest reading slump and I'm hoping this challenge will help me get out of it. Annndd I really hope I've got the rules right because I'm super excited so I don't want to mess up. :p

I’m Zyron and was browsing the groups when I came across this one. I love to read and have been looking for a good reading challenge. I can’t wait to get involved and start reading!

My 1st bookclub was a few years ago with my mom, sister, & sister-in-law, & now I'm in several :)
This is my 1st challenge bookclub- looking forward to seeing how it all works out!

I'm also interested in folklore/witchcraft, especially when connected to nature - oh, to live in a cottage surrounded by trees and fields! While I dream this scenario from my city apartment I enjoy exploring new places thanks to a good book and a cup of tea :)
So happy to meet y'all!
