I am 30 years young and I live in Columbus, Ohio. I am happily married and we have a fur kid named Pepper. She is a Chiweenie... for those of you who may not know it is a cross between a Chihuahua and a Dachshund. I am a BIG animal lover! I am also very close with my family.
That's all I can think to share about myself at the moment but please if you have any further questions feel free to contact me. Also, thank you for accepting me into your group. I hope to make some life long friendships as well as find books to follow me throughout my journey!

I know I'm starting late this season so we'll see how far I get but it'll be interesting to see if I can somehow fit all my fantasy series into these challenges.
I'm looking forward to making friends and discussing books!

My name is Nikki, soon to be Nikki S on the Readerboards. I'm an MFA student in Creative Writing trying to find a way to read around the large amounts of in class reading we have to do. As I'm highly motivated by challenges, this seems like a good fit! I also like the three month pacing structure, which more often than not has some larger breaks included in it for us students.

Hi Nikki,
Best of luck for your first challenge. You'll find the challenge totally addictive - I know I do! :P

I joined GR last fall and am now giving up on trying to curb my addictive qualities about reading and challenges. Last week I went to the library to pick up 3 books and left with such a huge pile that a librarian helped carry them all to the car, and I've created a secret private group for my challenges. This challenge looks like it will help expand my reading horizons, so looking forward to all here.
Question- Since it looks like there's 1 month left on this season, should I wait to join in until the next challenge is set up?

Also, don't forget to set up your Readerboard name in that thread.

Thanks Bea! I'm marching, I'm marching!

I love to read almost anything. My favourite genres are fantasy, mystery and thrillers.

You might have heard many people say The Netherlands and Holland are totally different. I don't care which one is used because I live in Holland :)

My name is Jennifer, I'm 29, and I live in North Carolina. I'm in the last semester of my MBA and am at home most days. Hoping to find some readerly friends, so please fill free to reach out!
My current book obsessions are anything by Diana Gabaldon or Beverly Lewis. I am also gobbling up the Phryne Fisher series!

I teach Social Studies. I read a lot of history books to keep up with my subject. My favorite genre of fiction though is Sci-fi. My favorite Author is H.G. Wells.
I am always happy for suggestions in these genres!

It is entirely free to join and access all the features.
Happy to be part of this group.

I love to read and joined this group as a way to expand the genres that I read and find new loves. I am going to see what I can do in this last month of August for the Summer challenge but can't wait to dive head first into the Fall challenge!

I am hoping to jump in headfirst during the fall challenge as I get my bearings these last two weeks of the summer round.

I'm new to goodreads and this group looks amazing! I love challenges and am always trying to find ways to broaden my reads. I am still trying to find out what to do with my life.
Cheers!
-Amber

My name is Jana and I am from Slovakia. I like to read all kinds of different genres. This group seems like a good way to discover new books and have fun reading them.

Can I post books that I've completed earlier this season...or do I have to start from today?

You can use any books that you've read since 9/1 - note, tho, that you need to have read the books completely during that time frame, not just have finished them. The only exception is for books longer than 500 pages that you had read <50% of as of 9/1.

Understood...great, thanks.

I'm Ed from San Diego, originally from Jersey City, NJ.
I'm a retired lawyer and Labor Union Representative. I married for the first time in January 2014...and I'm enjoying the best period of my life.
I do a LOT of traveling...but slowing down on that front. Last year I splurged on two big (and expensive trips) - a 6 week cruise around South America in the Spring.... and a trip to India, Burma (Myanmar) and Vietnam in the Fall. The Burma trip was a two week river cruise on the Irrawaddy....just wonderful. Travel plans for the future are more humble.
In addition to doing a lot of reading...my other hobby is Waymarking... an online scavenger hunt-like game which I have been doing for 7 years.
I have been participating in the Reading with Style Group for several years...and just discovered this group. But, I found this group as I am planning to change my reading goals for 2018. My goal had been to complete all 30 tasks for each of Reading with Style's seasons. But, for 2018, I plan to read books on my TBR (most of which are on Boxall's 1001 List) and fit them into tasks...rather than the other way around...and I suspect I will do the same here. So..that probably means that this season will probably be my highest score in both SRC and RwS.

I hope ..."
Thanks Ed for mentioning Waymarking - such a great idea - I am creating my account as we speak.

Hope you enjoy Waymarking. My name on Waymarking is Metro2....so, you may see that on a lot of Waymarks if I ever visited your area.

A little about me - I have my own business doing books for small businesses that keeps me very busy. My cat, Cleo, and I are enjoying our new house and are rapidly turning it into a home. We moved in mid-August. When I'm not reading, I'm involved in my other hobby - quilting.
I'm looking forward to getting to know you all.

Well, not a lot of waymarks in my area (Central Scotland) so that should be fun.
My username is Moondare. :)

I've always loved reading and I was one of those kids who REALLY got into Harry Potter and I am still a huge fan. I try to read a lot of different genres and I like to read multiple books at the same time (adds some spice in my life). My favorite genres tend to be thrillers, science fiction, dystopian, and memoir. I will attempt to read almost anything but I typically don't enjoy romance or fantasies as much as other genres (but it really just depends on the book, I hate to stereotype). I also absolutely LOVE Stranger Things, it's one of my favorite shows of all time =D

I decided to make this group for readers who want to be motivated to focus on reading more PAGES instead of books. Personally, I skipped a lot of the longer books on my shelves this year because I got so caught up in the number of books craze. So I'm looking forward to letting that go and striving to just read as many pages as I can.
Happy Reading!

Well, I am here to stay folks! I so enjoyed working on the winter challenge and have finished up with 355 points, which I am pretty darn proud of. I have no illusions about finishing a entire challenge, I will do my best. But, reading is such a big part of my life and I love it. I do not want to get caught up in a reading books that I do not care for just to gain points.
Best of Luck to all of you in the new season-my reading plan is coming a long nicely, so who knows, maybe I will finish!

My name is Belle :) I'm 26 and live in a small town in Virginia. I currently work full time as an editor and collegiate level writing instructor... but eventually, I'm hoping to write full-time.
I'm new to Goodreads and am excited to get to know other book lovers. I'll read pretty much anything but my favorite genre tends to be fantasy.
When I'm not reading you can find me either walking my giant german shepherd or baking. I can't wait to start the current challenge.
Feel free to add me, I'm excited to make some new friends :)

I've been postng here for a while, so about time I made an introduction.
There is a problem, however. I did the math and realized that, best case, I need to read 78 books in a 91-day, 13-week season, to finish the challenge. That's 6 books each week.
Sometimes I have read that much, that fast, but not lately.
So, as much fun as I have playing here, I'm going to only set my sights at 250 points henceforth.
[OK, well, after the Spring 2018 Challenge...]

Mike you could try to do the 5 and 10 point tasks to have a chance at the Nickel and Dime task
Make sure you read at least one Golden oldie and one big book to be in with a chance of those tasks
Take care when posting to get Moderator's pet award and ;e;ave a review for a book to win best review task.
they would all give a sense of achievement
ps welcome to the group

All awesome advice, and I do forget about the task creation awards.
But I do get competitive, in a go-big-or-go-home kind of way, and it just makes me cranky that I won't be up to 6 books a week until I retire and throw my last eaglet out of the net. Guess I'm playing the long game!
I just joined this group. I believe it’s my 11th challenge group
