Hey everyone I'm from a small town in Maine but have been living in our big city of Portland for about 2 years now. I'm an X-Ray technologist hoping to be Med school student and become a radiologist in my next 10 year plan! I am sort of stuck in a place where I keep asking if it's something I really want to do. I enjoy reading and have picked it up again this year. The last couple of years I have not done much reading, but so far I am reading a lot and hoping to keep that up. I also like to crochet when I am not reading.
One of my favorite things on GoodReads are the groups with challenges. Most of the groups I am involved in consist of mainly challenges. I may be a bit over my head with all of it, but it is fun!
Hi! My name is Marielle from Virginia. I currently work for the US Marine Corps. We are not allowed electronics at work so I have had to revert back from my Kindle to paper. It was a hard transition for me since I’m used to carrying around 13,000 in less than a pound. LOLI am single, 45, and the sole care-giver to my 82 year old mother. Reading is my escape. My other outlet is music. I currently sing with a Sweet Adeline Barbershop Chorus and a Harmony, Inc internationally ranked 5th place Barbershop Chorus. If I am not reading, I’m singing.

Hi everyone, My name is Kerahia. I'm from Dominica (not Dominican Republic). I'm twenty six and a mother of a nine year old boy. I wear many hats including being a student, full time employee, a youth ambassador in my country, youth worker amongst others.
The only time I have to just relax and breath, is in my books, in the secret worlds hidden within the pages. I get the opportunity to forget about my busy like and step into someone else world, a world where you dare to be different. Hence the reason why I am here, on goodreads, I can set my mind free in a world of books.
Why I am in this group, I am looking for a challenge, a motivation to read new books, new genres besides my comfort zone: Romance Novels.

Hi everyone. My name is Hannah. This is my second try at this challenge. I didn't finish the first time or get very far. I am going to try to push myself more. :-) I'm really excited. Last year my read count was really low, 14! So I am hoping this challenge will force me to read more books. I mostly read Young Adult and Historical Fiction, although I dabble in other genres as well, but not as frequently. Good luck, everyone!
Hello all! My name is Cait. I started out doing challenges with this group when I first joined GR nearly 10 years ago (I can't believe it's been that long!) I've been in nursing school for the past 2 years and haven't been able to read for pleasure much. However, I just graduated earlier this month and thought there's no better way to jump back into things than with a reading challenge. I currently live in Kansas with my 4 daughters (my husband is stationed in another state), but the Army will be moving us to Virginia this summer. Lots of changes going on - I'm counting on this challenge to help keep me sane. I look forward to getting to know you!

I'm Tiffany, 23 (24 next month) and from California. I've been out of college for a year and have been getting back into reading after my schoolwork stole all my time so that I couldn't do anything else.I've been in a summer reading challenge/program mood, but haven't been able to find anything locally, so I decided to start raiding Goodreads groups!
I'm lavender. I've been an avid reader since I can remember. In the past, I have tended to not have any structure to my reading, sort of just picking books on a whim. Several years ago, I started just picking an author I liked and reading all of their books. This year, I joined a few groups that had reading challenges and started choosing books a bit less randomly. I participated in the most recent Dewey's read-a-thon and started looking for other reading challenges to join in on. This one is the most complex that I've run into. I am looking forward to see how much I can get through this summer. It is fun to have lofty goals!

Hi everyone I am A retired nurse living in God's Own County - Yorkshire in the UK. I love reading and will give anything a go. I belong to 2 real life book groups, One of which I actually run. My first was to dramatically increase my nonfiction reading (check). I joined & completed another challenge & am now participating in a monthly 10 book challenge. I'm going to dabble this season...learn the ropes & all...and next season - woohoo!

Hey everyone, how's it going? My name is Dave, I'm in my 30's, and I love to read fantasy/sci-fi exclusively. I joined because I am indeed looking to broaden my horizons and find new books and authors that I imagine that I never would have otherwise...and yeah, you probably noticed the possible problem. I enjoy fantasy/sci-fi only. Anything else and I completely glaze over. But like I said, I wanna find out about new books and authors, but only in those genres. Is that alright?
Check out the different reviews in the genre sections. And you can search by genres themselves. Goodreads is the best. My reading has become so focused!

Hi, I own and run a market garden farm with my husband. During the summer I listen to a lot of audiobooks to pass the time. Right now is our slow time so I have time to read print books Mostly I enjoy sci-fi and fantasy, though I'm willing to try pretty much anything.I always have a huge problem deciding what to read next, so challenges help keep me in the groove.

I love reading! I try to challenge myself every year to read different books and more books. This has always been a part of my life, and even when most 12 year olds were off doing things with their friends, going to the mall or something like that, you would find me in 3 different places normally; at the library, in my room reading, or climbed up a tree where I found a perch to read in.
As I have gotten older, many things have come in and out of my life, but reading has always been there. And as life gets more busy, the harder it is for me to read at the same speed that I was at 2 years ago. And I want to challenge myself to read new books and books that I own that I haven't read yet.
Challenges have helped me keep with my schedule and I am guessing that I will work just as hard, if not harder to keep up with the challenges.

I have been reading all my life. I have gotten really "sloppy" about it since the computer but am trying to get back into reading and expand my reading territory.
My usual choices of books are mysteries (esp cozy), biographies, memoirs, and autobiographies, non-fiction, historical fiction. I love poetry, especially Emily Dickinson, Catholic spiritualties and theology

As a Chartered Accountant, I worked extensively in Sri Lanka and Zimbabwe.
In Zimbabwe I also turned Horticulturist and grew roses, for export to Europe, in a metal, plastic-covered greenhouse of extent one full hectare!
I was also a Lawn Bowls player and took part in Zimbabwe National Bowls Tournaments
I am now an author and have written four books. My first book, “Sri Lankan and Zimbabwean Memories”, is a collection of autobiographical reminiscences. My second book, “Hernando Villa: A Sri Lankan Love Story”, is a novel. Hello! My name is Diana. I am a stay at home wife and part time nanny (very part time). I have always had a love of reading, but found that in the past few years I have been reading a lot less than I used to. I am hoping this challenge will reignite that love again. I live in Alaska. North Pole, Alaska to be exact (yes, it is an actual town). My husband is a contractor for the military and we plan to be in Alaska for the foreseeable future.
I have been part of Goodreads for a while, and have been able to see how much my reading has slid to the back burner. This is my first challenge, and like I said, I am hoping this is the jump start I need to get back into reading!
