I'm trying to find a children's book that is based on the Grimm fairy tale The Old Woman in the Woods. As best i can remember it is about a girl who either gets lost or stranded in the woods but a bird (a dove I think?) brings her a magic key that opens a door in a tree that she can open once or twice a day and get food and stuff from. I don't think that the title is the same as mentioned above and I believe the cover had a picture of the door in the tree with the girl next to it maybe?

I'm not sure if you're still looking for this, but it could be The Magic Ring by Jeanette Winter, which is a retelling of The Old Woman in the Woods/Forest. The cover shows the door in the tree, too, with the girl next to it:
