A father buys a lie detector robot that slaps people when they lie.
He decides to test it out at dinner one night.
The father asks his son what he did that afternoon.
The son says, "I did some schoolwork."
The robot slaps the son.
The son says, "OK, OK. I was at a friend's house watching movies."
Dad asks, "What movie did you watch?"
Son says, "Toy Story."
The robot slaps the son.
Son says, "OK, OK, we were watching porn."
Dad says, "What? At your age I didn't even know what porn was."
The robot slaps the father.
Mom laughs and says, "Well, he certainly is your son."
The robot slaps the mother. . .

Absolutely sending good thoughts and prayers. I'm with Lisa, so much bravery.

Ela--this is the test I have to get that gauges my rejection level. As time passes, they're spread out more and more, and eventually, I'll just get one per year (or maybe even less that that--I can't remember). But from my understanding, they put an I.V. line in my neck and thread some type of wire through it down to my heart to 'measure the pressure' (that's the 'right heart cath' part of it) and then they thread a little pincher through it and pinch off pieces of my heart for biopsy. It's a little more complicated than that, but I only want to know 'basically' what they do because I'm awake while they're doing it and I want as few details as possible!
Everything went fine. You'd think I'd be used to these by now after having so many, but they seem to be getting harder--probably because they keep going in at the same spot in my neck.
So anyway, I found out that I still have to get another in a month and then another a month after that (that will be 6 months since the transplant). But if all continues to go well, I think I'll get 6 months off after that (as long as my rejection never gets above a '1', which is what it was yesterday.)
The best part is that they went down a little more on my prednisone. Now I'm down to 5mg a day, so hopefully, this swelling will finally start to go down!
Thanks again for all your prayers and good thoughts. It REALLY did help!! Now I'm just going to take it easy for the rest of the day!

YAY NAY!!! I am so happy that all went well, I have been thinking about you since yesterday, so happy to hear that all went well! Now will just keep my fingers crossed for excellent results!

Any of you who have experienced a health crisis yourself or in your family know how it is. You do these individual things as they come and you deal. Then, before you know it, you've done a whole bunch of individual things that add up to this one huge thing. And then you look back and think 'OMFG! How the heck did I DO that?' But I'm SO thankful to have had all of you cheering me on through this!
Anyway, I just wanted to check in and let you know I'm still around. I'm finishing up this round of editing the next few days and then I'll be back. I still have at least one challenge book to finish!

Just make sure you don't make the same mistake I made and read from the top because even though the duets and trilogy are "standalones" characters from the other books do make an appearance and some more significant than others.

Tasha, did you mean me? I was at TBB in December. It's really hard to go in there looking for specific books, because it does changed depending on what she has on hand. It's better to look for specific authors since that's how the books are categorized. I didn't see TJR or Leylah Attar, and I looked. But, they may be there now. Renee Carlino was there and your mom would probably love Sweet Thing or Before We Were Strangers. Of course all of CoHo's are there and Tarryn Fisher (but I'm not as familiar with her). I also got Mia Sheridan when I was there and Natasha Boyd. Suanne said she did send some in so she is hopefully still there, and I checked with Emma Scott and she said she will be sending some this month but probably not in time for your mom. I recommend making a list of authors she likes and just going through the shelves. They're all $15 and signed.

Wow I love your Mom's reading tastes! My mum was Mills and Boon all the way (Oops, I typed Mills and Boob and it didn't autocorrect LOL). She used to keep a box of them under her bed for easy bedtime reading access. The super cheesy ones with the shocking old covers lol.

Your mom and I have very similar tastes! And I don't love all of CoHo's other books, like I do IEWU, so I totally get that. I think Suanne would be a good bet for her since she likes the painful ones. And I know TJR is probably not there but have her read ALL of her first books (can't speak for her latest). I flipped through After I Do today for writing inspiration and I was bawling. Just flipping through. I had to pick another book because I got so upset!
Wait. Hey now. Mills and Boone are basically Australia and Britain's Harlequin. Or we our their American version. Anyway I have had a lot of reading pleasure from them and Silhouette over the years. How i first found Nora Roberts.

How fun Melinda. Do you travel a lot?

I have been debating growing out my hair or getting a bob. There is a salon that I like in a different town. I was visiting that town yesterday and thought I would go in to pick up some hair products and make an appointment to cut my hair towards the end of August. And maybe get a few highlights. I've gone to four different hairdressers at that salon. They've all been different but three of them I really liked. It's just I get my haircut like once a year so I'm never anybody's regular and when I call one sometimes they're booked up when I want to go in and so they refer me to another stylist. However the last stylist I went to will not a bad haircut was it when I was that happy with. But it was almost a year ago as to when I went in honestly I didn't even think she would remember me or maybe hoping she wouldn't be there but she was and she greeted me and commented on how my hair is growing out. So I just bought my gel and left. No I'll feel bad if I go and I make an appointment with someone else but I don't really want to go back to that stylist. Before I didn't feel bad because I was making last-minute appointments and they stylist are usually booked up so i went with who was open.
bev, do they have a website or a facebook page? can you see individual stylist's hours that way? I totally understand your feelings. It's hard for everyone, but especially us girls with curly hair (I think I remember you're a member of the curly haired crew..., if not, I'm sorry I confused you with someone else!) Hopefully, they have pictures of themselves up on their page to identify them and That way you could call and make an appointment with so-and-so...(who isn't the one you don't want)
