Holly Davis (writehollydavis) | 1 comments Hello! I was interested in finding more YA fantasy books similar to the plot/premise below:

A boy with a strange mark under his eye escapes from his world during an attack and lands on another world. He finds out all the worlds in the universe were destroyed except that one. The person to blame is a mysterious man with magical powers who is searching for four chosen ones, who when united, will unleash their true powers and also the gift of immortality to one soul. The boy owned a book when he was younger which allowed him to cast spells, but he feared the powerful magic and vowed never to use it again. Throughout the book, he joins a rebel group to fight against the evil man and finds his courage to use spells in order to get strong enough to defeat him.

I would really appreciate any ideas of books similar to this one in premise or concept. Thank you so much!!!

Heidi Angell (heidiangell) | 74 comments The Gate by Matt Smith is similar, except about two girls. loved it! also, Orson Scott Card's Pathfinder series would probably appeal to you.

Sarah | 3915 comments Have you checked out the I Am Number Four series? It's sort of a superhero fantasy and they come from another world.

Sarah | 3915 comments Loui, please take a look at the *AUTHORS MUST READ* section of the Goodreads Authors Discussion folder for rules on self-promotion.

Sarah | 3915 comments It doesn't matter if it fits the genre or question asked. No self promotion is allowed outside of that folder.

Otherwise, welcome to the group and have fun.

Trike Not exactly what you're looking for but in the ball park:

Wildside by Steven Gould Wildside

The Practice Effect by David Brin The Practice Effect

A Darker Shade of Magic (Shades of Magic, #1) by V.E. Schwab A Darker Shade of Magic

There's another book along these same lines whose title I forget, but the cover is looking down on a running kid whose reflection in a puddle is different.
