book recommentaions: analysis of form and content

Seek critical books that analyze the relationship between form (panel design, page composition, etc.) and content (art and text).

I think the best books I've read on this topic are the classic Comics and Sequential Art by Will Eisner, the the absolutely amazing Understand Comics by Scott McCloud :)

Both are my favorites but I'm seek more recent texts especially authors who build on subjects Eisner and McCloud discussed.

That would be interesting indeed - I hope someone else comes along and comments on that as I'd be very keen to give new criticism a read.
