SOLVED. Children's chapter book about a girl who wants a "catsup cake". [s]

There's a children's chapter book that I read in the 80's about a girl who had a guy friend and she wanted her mom to bake her a catsup cake so the guy friend would be interested in her. I want to say something along the Cam Jensen series, but I don't think it was a Can Jensen book (I read a lot of those in the 80's, as well).
