Jaz - (view spoiler)[I'm curious about his grand plan and how he will get the money out of Van Eck. He hasn't given himself a lot of time with his three day estimate for Jesper's father. (hide spoiler)]

Finished Part 1 yesterday! So far not too much different from the previous books in terms of characters, although Van Eck is coming off much more sadistic than I remember from the first book.

Part 3

Jaz and Inej - (view spoiler)[Jaz needs to find a balance between who he needs to be to protect Inej and the others and who he wants to be before Inej leaves. (hide spoiler)]

The plan - (view spoiler)[I give Kaz full marks for staying one step ahead while juggling so many pieces and absorbing the new ones being asked of him. While the plan is daring, it is not impossible. I look forward to seeing how it goes. (hide spoiler)]

I agree. The first book showed his public face, and this one shows the truth behind that. It's very different. Every time I think I've seen the worst, something else comes to light.

I've finished Part 2 and most of Part 3, so I'm avoiding Deanna's spoilers. :) I love the plan so far -- so perfect! I will admit I'm getting a bit tired of Nina and the parem drama --it's getting a little repetitive. The Shue bad guys are interesting and I'm interested to see how that works into the story.

I just finished Six of Crows and loooved it. Looking to start this one over the weekend or sometime next week!

I'm now through Part 4. I have to admit I'm a little bored. Maybe it's my mood, but I'm again finding the flashbacks in the middle of the action tedious. The info on Wyland is interesting, but I feel like we know most of the other stuff, and it just keeps taking me out of the story. Hopefully I'll be done this weekend.

Finally getting a chance to read this. Six of Crows was so incredible, I can't wait to see what this book brings! Just read the 1st chapter and am already riveted.

Ohmigosh Wylan's section in Part I was intense! (view spoiler)[ Just reading the part where Kaz tells the little girl that he's a monster and will slay her family and pets could give me nightmares! (hide spoiler)]

Finished part 1. If I had any complaint about Six of Crows, and I use the word complaint very loosely since it was excellent, it would be that it started slowly. Crooked Kingdom does not have this issue. Holy action packed first part! (view spoiler)[ I felt like I was holding my breath during Inej's entire section. I wanted her to escape though I knew it wouldn't happen. Her curse, for lack of a better term, against Bajan was brutal and wonderful. I love Inej. (hide spoiler)]

I love seeing Kaz's plans unfold, he always seems to be 6 steps ahead with 5 plans B's for each step.

I'm still about 20 pages in. I'm trying to finish Strange the Dreamer before I finish this one. Hopefully I can get into it tomorrow.

Kaz/Inez : (view spoiler)[ I really like how this ended for them. I feel like they both had a purpose, and a goal and feel there was real hope for their relationship. I have a feeling we will be seeing them often in the Grishaverse to come. (hide spoiler)]

Nina/Matthias: (view spoiler)[ I'm usually devastated when one of my characters dies, but somehow I was okay for both of them this time around. It seemed right somehow for it to end this way. (hide spoiler)]

Overall, I was not as enthralled with this book as the first -- it took me forever to finish! I loved the last 100 pages though and how everything worked out.

Through part 3, Wylan's section (view spoiler)[ Ohmigosh I am loving this book! Wlan discovering that his mom is still alive was bananas!! Jan Van Eck is cold freaking blooded to commit his wife to a sanatorium just so he could have an heir he deemed appropriate. What a psycho! My heart was breaking for Wylan and his mom, especially when Wylan sees the paintings she makes of him.

So glad Inej is back with her crew/family. She is such a dynamic character, I love how she is clearly brave and strong but also is one of the most vulnerable characters.

So, I've finally finished! I'm glad I read this book. I think I like this one more than the first one. I might even re-read these in a a year or so.

Inez and Kaz - (view spoiler)[I think the book ended well for them. They both have hope in being with each other but they know they have things to do for themselves first. I appreciate that. (hide spoiler)]

Wylan and Jesper - (view spoiler)[ I must say, I sort of squealed when Jesper kissed Wylan the first time. Then was devastated to learn that it wasn't Wylan. I'm happy with how these two ended up. I think they're great for each other! (hide spoiler)]

Mattias and Nina - (view spoiler)[ I think these two are my favourite couple. I loved Nina the most in this book. I think she's a strong character. I did like seeing Mattias and Nina have time together in this book. I just hope Nina will be alright (hide spoiler)]
