I was wondering if I should read "Shadow and Bone" by Leigh Bardugo?

I loved it when I read it in 7th grade. I reread the series in 9th and it lost some of the appeal. And I HATED Specials. Poor Zane ;( Pretties was my fav <3 Extras was bleh. DNF.
